Micah Parsons will be eligible for a contract extension after this season. The Dallas Cowboys drafted him with the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and he has developed into one of the best defensive players in the league.
However, rumors about Parsons being available on the trade market have been going on for weeks. Now, the Philadelphia Eagles’ A.J. Brown has revealed that Parsons wants to become a part of the reigning Super Bowl champions.

A.J. Brown Suggests Micah Parsons Wants to Sign With Eagles
The Eagles ended their season winning Super Bowl 59, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans on February 9. Brown was one of their star players in the big game and scored what ended up being the game-winning touchdown late in the first half to put the Eagles up 24-0.
The receiver recently joined the “Million Dollaz Worth Of Game” podcast and spoke about Parsons’s desire to became an Eagle.

While Parsons is one of the best linebackers in the league, the Eagles don’t necessarily need him at the moment. There wasn’t a single statistical flaw in Philadelphia’s defense, which ranks top 10 in every metric that encompasses the Defense+ grades (except for sack rate, where they were 16th).
Additionally, Parsons has expressed his desire to stay with his dream team, Dallas, even if it means taking a salary cut.
“It would be nice to be surrounded by good players,” said Parsons, per Cowboys insider Jon Machota. “Players are going to help you win championships. I want to keep as many guys as possible… I don’t need $40 million per year. I need to be somewhere where I can have a lake house.”
Parsons does see himself as being part of the long-term plan for the Cowboys’ future. That decision is not always up to players under contract, though, with clubs in control of their future.
Over his four NFL seasons, he has made three All-Pro teams, accumulated 53 sacks, and earned a total of four Pro Bowl selections by his 25th birthday. Although the Cowboys have publicly stated that they aim for a long-term commitment with Parsons, the potential trade value for him could be substantial.
It’s easy to make the argument that Parsons’s best years are ahead of him, as he would be an instant game-wrecker for any team. And with the Cowboys’ glaring needs at wide receiver, running back, and offensive line, a trade could be coming sooner than expected.
