Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Explains Sideline Outburst, Cryptic Trade Posts

Is another Tyreek Hill trade involving the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins in the cards? Certainly not anytime soon, based on the WR's comments Wednesday.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — While no one can say with absolute certainty what goes through Tyreek Hill’s mind, the odds that the Miami Dolphins wide receiver is actually lobbying for a trade out of South Florida is near zero.

That’s based on what we know about Hill’s love-to-troll nature and his credible locker room comments on the topic Wednesday.

Does Tyreek Hill Want a Trade Away From the Miami Dolphins?

Hill, asked directly by a reporter about speculation that the Kansas City Chiefs — who just potentially lost Rashee Rice for the season — might be interested in trading to get him back, said the following:

“I’m just focused on right here and right now,” Hill said. “We got a beautiful team here. And I wanna be a part of it, you know. We got a great situation here. My family loves it. I enjoy it. The weather’s great, the fans are great. So we got a beautiful situation here, man.

“Obviously, you know, my parents always taught me, control the controllable, and I only can control so much, you know what I’m saying? So with that being said, we all know the NFL is a business. Whatever happens, happens, you know what I’m saying? So moving forward, I would love to be here. I love being here, you know, I love the guys.”

That should (but probably won’t) put to rest (for now) any chatter about a potential deal between the slumping Dolphins and Chiefs involving the league’s most explosive player.

Hill’s comments came after an eventful 48 hours, kicked off by ESPN cameras capturing him shouting on the sidelines late in the Dolphins’ blowout loss to the Tennessee Titans.

“I wouldn’t refer to it as shouting,” Hill said. “That’s just me motivating my teammates. I was simply telling [No.] 2-5 [RB Jaylen Wright] that we need more of that. Because he had a great run there toward the end of the game. I was like, I need more of that. I need more of that. [Jonnu Smith], I need more of that. I need more of that [Snoop Huntley].

“I just motivate my teammates. There’s no ill will, like me personally, my teammates know me, I never break down and I never call nobody out in that moment. If I got a problem with somebody, I’ll pull them to the side and I’ll tell you what’s going on. That’s the man that my parents were on, but I was simply just saying [Wright], I need more of that.”

That didn’t stop Hill from intentionally stoking the flames on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday.

He sent tea-leaf readers into a frenzy when he posted he “woke up to trade news exciting.”

After meeting with reporters Wednesday, he returned to the platform and let everyone in on the joke:

“I love trolling you nut cases 😂😂”
