Tyreek Hill Investigation: What We Know About Allegations Against Miami Dolphins Star

Miami-Dade police confirm to Pro Football Network that they are investigating an allegation that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill struck a charter boat employee at a local marina on Sunday.

Local 10, the ABC affiliate in Miami, first reported the altercation after receiving a tip. Fox Sports 640’s Andy Slater later confirmed that police are looking into the incident but added the alleged victim does not want to press charges at this time.

“We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Tyreek, his representatives and the NFL,” a Miami Dolphins spokesperson said in a statement. “We will reserve further comment at this time.”

UPDATED (June 21): Slater reported Wednesday that MDPD has closed the investigation, telling the alleged victim that “he would have to go to the state attorney’s office if he decides to pursue criminal charges.”

Report: Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Under Investigation

Here’s what we do know for certain:

Hill and his South Florida-based agent, Drew Rosenhaus, both shared content to social media in recent days of Hill participating in some sort of Father’s Day celebration on a fishing boat.

Rosenhaus posted video to Twitter of him swimming with, and then touching, a shark that had come up alongside their boat. The camera panned to Hill, who was on the boat while his agent was in the water.

It appears that Hill was the one who caught the shark, posting on Twitter that it took him 45 minutes to reel it in.

If Local 10’s reporting is accurate, Hill and Rosenhaus rented that boat, and at some point, Hill struck one of the charter company’s employees.

Slater reports that “Hill allegedly slapped a boat employee on the back of the head this past weekend, a senior law-enforcement source tells me.

“The crew member does not want to press charges at this time, sources say.

“The incident, @WPLGLocal10 first reported, started when Hill’s crew tried boarding the boat without permission, I’m told.

“Police are reviewing video which may show the altercation, sources say.”

Before the news broke, a publicist for Hill’s Route-Con 2023 wide receiver training program had invited members of the media to attend this week’s invite-only camp in Broward County.

The publicist late Tuesday notified PFN that Hill will not be made available to reporters.

Hill is the NFL’s highest-paid wide receiver, having signed a four-year, $120 million extension following his trade to the Dolphins in 2022.

This is not the first time Hill has been accused of violent behavior. Oklahoma State kicked him off the team in 2014 after he was accused of assaulting his 20-year-old pregnant girlfriend.

He ultimately pleaded guilty to domestic assault, agreeing to probation and anger management counseling.

Five years later, authorities and the NFL investigated an incident that resulted in Hill’s three-year-old son suffering a broken arm. No charges were ever filed, as police determined the arm was broken accidentally. What’s more, the NFL decided not to suspend Hill, as investigators could not prove he violated the league’s code of conduct.
