Miami Dolphins tackle Terron Armstead made another stop on his spring Pacific swing Monday night, appearing on NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access” after a visit to Hawaii for Tua Tagovailoa’s youth camp.
Armstead weighed in on a number of issues — including his decision to return for a 12th season and where the Dolphins stand in the new-look AFC East.
Before the segment ended, Armstead was asked about comments made three months ago by Dion Dawkins in the moments after the Bills’ division championship-deciding win in Miami.
Miami Dolphins’ Terron Armstead Speaks
Here’s what Dawkins said immediately after the Bills won at Hard Rock Stadium for the fourth time in five games:
“Miami is our city. Bills Mafia runs through this place. And they show us year after year after year, and we’re thankful for them. We’re thankful for the fans. … it was a home game for sure.”
Armstead’s response on Monday?
“That’s Dion. That’s him. He just likes to talk a little bit. He’s a great player. He’s a great young player. I love watching him go about his business. He’s been phenomenal, his progression and development as a pro.
“He’s one of the greats playing that position. Nothing but love for Dion. They don’t own anything at all. That’s just a little smack talk. That’s it.”
If there was ever a year to flip the script on the Bills-own-Dolphins narrative, this is it.
Buffalo purged its roster this offseason, saying goodbye to Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Leonard Floyd, Mitch Morse, Tre’Davious White, Dane Jackson, Jordan Poyer, and more.
Armstead said Monday he’s not worried about any of that.
“It’s all in-house,” he said. “It’s all in-house. We don’t really look at all the other moving pieces within the division or around the league, because we feel like we have enough.
“We’re talented enough, we’re skilled enough, we’re tough enough. We just have to do it. It’s now time to show and prove that we can win those big games and live those big moments. It doesn’t matter who traded who. We don’t look at that. We have enough to beat anybody at full strength and that’s really our mindset, that’s our mentality. We have that confidence. We just have to go out there and do it.”
