The Miami Dolphins will try yet again to dethrone the Buffalo Bills this fall, but this time around, they’ll have (at least) two defectors helping them do it.
Siran Neal and Jordan Poyer are part of the Dolphins’ overhaul on defense, and these former Bills defensive backs both sound eager to take the team that just cut them down a notch.
Siran Neal Eager To Change Miami Dolphins’ Fortunes
The Bills have won four straight AFC East titles and 11 of their last 12 games against the Dolphins. Neal has earned a lot of extra spending cash in the way of playoff bonuses thanks in no small part to Buffalo’s dominance over Miami.
Now he wants to flip the script.
“I’m very excited,” Neal told reporters Thursday after formally signing his one-year contract with Miami. “Definitely been on the other side for the past six years, you know, winning that title up there. On the other side now. It’s time to work to get that division down in South Florida.
“I’m up for the challenge. With Buffalo, they’re a really good team, got a good staff, great players, great coaching,” he added. “So when that time comes, … I’m pretty sure me and the guys will be prepared for whatever. It is gonna be a tough game and all, but it’s gonna be a really, really, really, really good game and I’m looking forward to it.”
Sounds like Poyer, the former Bills safety who is also trading in Western New York for South Florida, feels the same way.
“One thing about me and ‘Po’ — and I’m not even gonna make this about me; I’m gonna say about ‘Po,’ man — he’s really competitive. He’s competitive as hell. He’s just like me, he hates to lose, I hate to lose. We work for everything we got. It’s nothing come easy, you know, staying in Buffalo, you gotta have really tough skin, you know what I’m saying?”
