Miami Dolphins Practice Report | Oct. 26
The news could hardly have been better for the Miami Dolphins’ offense Thursday.
Both Hill and Mostert were back at practice, as was Alec Ingold, who also missed Wednesday’s session. That certainly bodes well for all three’s chances of playing in Week 8.

After practice, Hill when asked if he’s playing Sunday said, “Yeah, baby. I’m good, baby.”
Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith during his weekly media availability deferred all injury questions to Mike McDaniel — who will address the Hill and Mostert injuries for the first time Friday.
“I think ultimately, whenever [we do] lineup changes, we spread out things to have multiple contingencies with personnel packages,” Smith said, per the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “Going back to training camp, we talked about, ‘Why do we do certain things that we do?’ To make sure we have vested options.”
When asked how it affects his game planning for the New England Patriots, Smith replied:
“[We make a plan] with the personnel that we know is going to be available, so when it comes to contingencies throughout the whole season, those are things we weigh every week. You kind of have an idea earlier in the week to make sure we have options, just in case.”

Hill, Mostert, and Ingold were two of five active roster Dolphins who did not practice Wednesday.
The others were safety Jevon Holland (concussion) and guard Robert Jones (personal).

Both were also back on the field Thursday, although Holland was a red non-contact jersey. If he doesn’t clear protocol in time for Miami’s Week 8 game against the Patriots, Brandon Jones will likely get the start, per Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
Vic Fangio indicates that Brandon Jones would start at safety opposite DeShon Elliott if Jevon Holland can't play against the Patriots on Sunday and go from there.

Cornerback Jalen Ramsey is not on the active roster — yet. But after practicing all last week with the scout team and then with the starters Wednesday, he’s certainly on his way.
Fangio said that the team has not yet determined whether Ramsey will play Sunday against the Patriots but added that Ramsey is “progressing well.”
As for rookie cornerback Cam Smith, he suffered a foot injury Wednesday and will not practice Thursday, per Fangio.
