Miami Dolphins Practice Report and Injury Update: Promising Signs for Tyreek Hill, De’Von Achane

While the Miami Dolphins' offensive line is still a big-time concern, Thursday's practice suggested some much-needed health improvements elsewhere.

The Miami Dolphins‘ offensive line probably isn’t going to appreciably improve before Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. However, the rest of the roster should be far more available for Christmas Eve’s biggest game than Wednesday’s practice seemed to suggest.

Miami Dolphins Practice Report, Thursday Edition

Of the seven Dolphins players who sat out Wednesday, all but two were spotted during the portion open to reporters Thursday, per the South Florida Sun-Sentinel:

Right guard Robert Hunt (hamstring) and right tackle Austin Jackson (oblique).

    That was the bad news.

    The good?

WR Tyreek Hill (ankle), OT Terron Armstead (knee/ankle), CB Xavien Howard (hip), and RB Raheem Mostert (knee/ankle/vet rest) were all in uniform and participating. So was super-sub De’Von Achane, the sparkplug running back who has been dealing with a toe issue.

TE Durham Smythe (ankle) was present but limited, per reporters present. What’s more, DeShon Elliott, the starting safety who missed the Jets game due to a concussion, is out of the red practice jersey. Jevon Holland (knees), meanwhile, was at practice again, although his status remains uncertain.

So the Dolphins should give the Cowboys their best possible shot Sunday — assuming the offensive line hangs in there.

Armstead might be the only starting O-lineman available. When Jackson left the Jets game due to the injury, Kendall Lamm replaced him.

And barring a dramatic recovery by Hunt, the interior offensive line would presumably look the same as it did against New York: Lester Cotton at left guard, Liam Eichenberg at center, and Robert Jones at right guard.

That group as a whole hung in there in Week 15, giving up three sacks and five QB hits. The team did manage just 2.8 yards per carry.
