Miami Dolphins Practice Report and Injury Update: Mike McDaniel Brings in OL Help

    Published on

The Miami Dolphins' injury report includes a lot of really important names, including four of the five projected Week 15 starters on the offensive line.

The Miami Dolphins formally ended their most important offensive lineman’s season Wednesday.

And in an effort to replace him, they added two veteran centers who have appeared in zero games in 2023 — and just 38 total since the start of the 2020 season.

Here are the names to go with the narrative:

Connor Williams, who tore his ACL during Monday night’s game against the Tennessee Titans, is officially out for the year after the team placed him on injured reserve.

Liam Eichenberg will, at least for now, take his place in the starting lineup. But the Dolphins now have some other options should Eichenberg falter.

Veteran Jonotthan Harrison, who last appeared in a game four years ago, takes Williams’ place on the active roster.

Harrison, who started 42 games with the Colts and Jets between 2014 and 2019, spent the past three seasons on the Bills’, Giants’, and Falcons’ practice squads. He went to training camp this summer with Atlanta but has been out of the league after getting cut before the deadline.

Matt Skura is a familiar name in these parts. He went to training camp with the Dolphins in 2021 but didn’t survive final cuts. He appeared in nine games for the Rams last year, starting eight.

Williams is just one of several injured Dolphins linemen. While the Dolphins had Wednesday off, they still had to provide an injury report with a participation estimate as if they practiced.

Eichenberg (calf), Terron Armstead (knee/ankle), and Robert Hunt (hamstring) would not have practiced had the Dolphins held one.

The order the players are listed in the above sentence is a good estimation of their likelihood of playing in Week 15. Hunt has all but been ruled out.

Five other key Dolphins players would not have participated Wednesday: Running back De’Von Achane (toe), safety DeShon Elliott (concussion/ribs), wide receiver Tyreek Hill (ankle), cornerback Xavien Howard (hip), and running back Raheem Mostert (knee/vet rest).
