MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins are on the clock.
When the Detroit Lions beat the Los Angeles Rams Sunday, it ended the NFL’s longest active streak by a franchise without a playoff win at 32 years.
Miami Dolphins’ Playoff Woes
That means the Dolphins own the new longest active streak. Their last postseason victory came in 2000.
Which means the Dolphins will now be considered arguably the worst franchise of the 21st century — a fact not lost on their fans or their players.
“I’m frustrated too, although it doesn’t look like it,” Dolphins safety Jevon Holland said Monday. “You want to win, but we did not win in the playoffs. We’re just not doing it. Especially, what is it, 24 years? That s— is a—, that’s terrible. It’s terrible. I’m trying to win.”

“So I got to see Detroit win last night,” Holland continued. “Shout out to them. But damn, now we’re the only team. That’s trash.”
The biggest reason the Dolphins haven’t won a playoff game since 2000? They have hosted just three playoff games since 2000.
This franchise simply does not play well on the road in December and January. Saturday’s loss to the Chiefs dropped the Dolphins to 3-13 all-time on the road in the playoffs.
They have just 12 playoff wins total in the last 50 years — the same number that Patrick Mahomes has in his six seasons as an NFL starter.
“I’ve been here two years, and I still carry that burden of the 23-year drought,” said Dolphins tackle Terron Armstead. “I care so much and everybody else in this locker room, like we understand the hardship from the fan base and not seeing success, not seeing those big victories. And we wear that too, man.
“I don’t want the fans to think that we don’t, that we’re just oblivious to it,” he added. “That’s not the case. We play, and we try to represent them the best way we possibly can.
“Unfortunately, we came short, but like we, we want that for them, we want them to get their bragging rights to talk s— to their coworkers or their friends across the league. I love that part of it. I love interacting with fans, getting their perspective on everything. So, we carry that. We carry that burden too.”
Based on 2023 records, the Dolphins will have the NFL’s seventh-easiest schedule (.488), although it will feature games against seven playoff teams: the Bills (twice), Texans, Rams, 49ers, Browns, and Packers.
