The Miami Dolphins finished second in the AFC East behind the Buffalo Bills. It was the fourth consecutive season that the Bills won the division, but it may come to an end soon.

Will Miami Own the AFC East?
Pro Football Network’s Adam H. Beasley believes that Buffalo’s time could be up on top of the division. Not only that, but he thinks that the New York Jets are the biggest obstacle to Miami’s future success.
“The Miami Dolphins, even with their purge on defense, have salvaged a productive free agency after falling a win short of the division crown this year,” Beasley wrote.
“And the New York Jets — yes, those New York Jets — have had an excellent offseason that puts them in position to capture the AFC East for just the fifth time ever.”

Beasley Ranks Miami’s Interior Offensive Linemen
The Dolphins have some spots to address on the team and the interior offensive line is the first that comes to mind. Beasley did some ranking of the interior offensive linemen with Aaron Brewer at No. 1, who he has as the team’s starting center in 2024.
Robert Jones, ranked second, played in eight games and made five starts (three at right guard, two at left guard). Jones played 418 offensive snaps, had four penalties (one holding), and allowed two sacks last year. Beasley believes that he’ll be competing for both the starting left guard and right guard spots this season.
Isaiah Wynn, ranked third, played seven games and made seven starts at left guard. He compiled 392 snaps with three penalties (no holding penalties) and allowed no sacks.
Jack Driscoll (No. 6 lineman), Liam Eichenberg (No. 7), and Lester Cotton (roster bubble) are the final three offensive linemen on the list.

Kansas City Man Charged for Stealing Miami Dolphins Gear
A man from Kansas City was charged with stealing over $45,000 worth of equipment from the Dolphins franchise, according to FOX4KC. Joseph Brown Sr. was charged with a class C felony charge of stealing by Jackson County officials. Kansas City Police responded to a theft on Jan. 14.
“Court documents say the items stolen included miscellaneous media equipment, five Pelican cases with media equipment, four large aqua blue colored equipment cases, three large equipment cases, football pads, gloves, shoes, cold weather gear, hockey bags with large ‘cape’ coats inside and game film,” FOX4KC’s Brian Dulle wrote.
It was valued at $46,376.

Miami Dolphins Signing Jordan Poyer Among Best One-Year Deals
Pro Football Network’s Dallas Robinson is really high on the Dolphins’ one-year, $2 million deal for former Buffalo safety Jordan Poyer.
“Although Jordan Poyer undoubtedly looked like he’d lost a step for the Bills last season, he’s still a smart signing for the Dolphins at just $2 million. A former first-team All-Pro who boasts 24 career interceptions, Poyer brings experience and football IQ to a Miami safety depth chart that lost Brandon Jones and DeShon Elliott this offseason.
“With Jevon Holland roaming the back end, Poyer should be able to spend most of his time in the box. He’ll still be a valuable signing even if he reverts into more of a situational role as the 2024 campaign progresses.”
Poyer is a one-time Pro Bowl and one-time All-Pro selection. He has 806 tackles (566 solo), 37 tackles for loss, 17 quarterback hits, 12 sacks, nine forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries, and 54 pass deflections in his career.

A Hypothetical Deal for a Pass Rusher
Robinson also cooked up a trade for the Dolphins. In this hypothetical deal, Miami would acquire edge rusher Azeez Ojulari from the New York Giants for a conditional 2025 fifth-round selection.
“Although Ojulari posted eight sacks in a promising 2021 rookie campaign, injuries have forced him to miss 16 of a possible 34 games in the two years since,” Robinson wrote. “The Giants acquired Brian Burns last week, teaming the former Panthers pass rusher with 2023 No. 5 overall pick Kayvon Thibodeaux on the edge.”
“Ojulari may still make sense as a third New York pass rusher, but GM Joe Schoen might want to get something for him before he hits free agency next offseason.”
The 6’3″, 240-pound linebacker has 16 sacks in his three-year career for the Giants. He also had 79 tackles (47 solo), 14 tackles for loss, 27 quarterback hits, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three pass deflections in 35 games played.
