Closer Look at the Miami Dolphins’ Plan To Replace Christian Wilkins
Following the departure of star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, Miami appears to be going with a committee approach to fill his void. Pro Football Network’s Adam H. Beasley discussed Wilkins’ loss and Miami’s potential plan to replace his role on their defense.
The Dolphins have signed several defensive tackles this offseason, including former Dallas Cowboys’ Neville Gallimore. While the 27-year-old DT didn’t start any games in Dallas last season, he has shown flashes at times in the NFL.

Anthony Walker Jr. Sheds New Light on Significant Health Scare
Anthony Walker Jr. has struggled with injury issues over the last three seasons. He signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins in free agency and met with Miami’s local media during a Zoom call on Tuesday.
Walker mentioned a surprising health scare that he was forced to deal with last season. While the Cleveland Browns were preparing for the playoffs, Walker was in the hospital battling a potentially career-ending infection. It was certainly a scary situation that Walker is able to look back on now after overcoming that obstacle.

Miami’s Endless Possibilities in the Defensive Backfield
While the Dolphins were forced to release former starting cornerback Xavien Howard and also lost former starting safeties DeShon Elliott and Brandon Jones in free agency, they have rebounded nicely this offseason.
After signing veteran safety Jordan Poyer and DB Kendall Fuller, Miami’s new-look secondary will be fun to watch. Miami’s most recent additions will join Jalen Ramsey, Jevon Holland, and Kader Kohou to form one of the most versatile secondaries in the NFL.

Who Will Sign Michael Thomas in Free Agency?
Despite the dynamic duo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle playing for the Dolphins, Miami could use an upgrade at the third WR spot. While signing tight end Jonnu Smith will surely improve Miami’s passing attack, an upgrade at wide receiver could help.
Pro Football Network’s Nick Faria believes that the Dolphins could be a potential landing spot for former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas. Hill and Waddle offer tons of speed and slot versatility, but Thomas is a significantly bigger target who would offer a different look for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to work with.

Dolphins Restructure Bradley Chubb’s Contract
Miami was forced to release several starters and watch various others leave in free agency due to their tough salary cap situation. Yet, according to Field Yates of ESPN, Miami freed up some much-needed salary cap by restructuring the contract of edge rusher Bradley Chubb.
Restructuring Chubb’s deal will create an additional $11 million in cap space for Miami to work with in 2024. The Dolphins converted $13.75 million of his base salary into a signing bonus to complete the restructuring of his deal.
