The Miami Dolphins had a number of holes to fill during this offseason. Yet, one of the team’s biggest strengths could get even stronger with the potential addition of a receiver.

Tyreek Hill Attempts To Recruit Michael Thomas
It’s one thing when a team wants to recruit a player. It’s another when a player at the same position from the team looks to make the addition. That was the case with Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill, who misspelled free agent wide receiver Michael Thomas’ name on a post on X that went viral on Wednesday.
“Just throwing this out there Micheal Thomas in Miami would be [holding back tears emoji],” Hill tweeted.
Thomas, 31, has been hobbled by injuries over the past four seasons with the New Orleans Saints. He missed the entirety of the 2021 season and has played in just 13 games over the last two years. Thomas’ first four seasons were bright with the Saints, putting together 470 receptions for 5,512 yards and 32 touchdowns.
He was named a Pro Bowler in three straight seasons from 2017-2019, being selected as an All-Pro in 2018 and 2019, along with winning Offensive Player of the Year in 2019. If he could return to a portion of the form that he was in with New Orleans, Thomas could be a strong pickup for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s weaponry.
Hill also reached out to free agent wide receiver Hunter Renfrow on X.
“You want me to three way onto a call with me and Mike,” Hill asked in a tweet.
Early Hints at Jordyn Brooks’ Role and Why He Chose Miami
Jordyn Brooks signed a three-year, $26.3 million contract with the Dolphins on Thursday.
The 26-year-old linebacker had 513 tackles (309 solo), 23 tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hits, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 16 pass deflections, and a pick-six in four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
Brooks expects to man the middle LB position for the Dolphins, according to Pro Football Network’s Adam H. Beasley. The linebacker does admit that he hasn’t spoken with the defensive staff much about what he’ll do.
“To be honest, we haven’t [gone] over that as much,” Brooks said. “I think there are some things they’re trying to figure out scheme-wise, personnel-wise.”
2 Additions Beef Up Dolphins’ Defensive Line
The Dolphins lost defensive tackle Christian Wilkins in free agency to the Las Vegas Raiders. It meant that the team had to go in a new direction, which they did by signing Benito Jones and Da’Shawn Hand.
Jones had 2.5 sacks, 10 QB hits, and three tackles for loss in two seasons with the Detroit Lions. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dolphins in 2020.
Hand, 28, played for the Lions and Tennessee Titans before joining Miami ahead of the 2023 season. He posted 17 tackles (six solo), one TFL, three QB hits, a sack, and two pass deflections last season.
Will New Dolphins DB Go From Bills Castoff to Buffalo Slayer?
Miami also brought in defensive back Siran Neal, who spent the last seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills. Neal has 115 tackles (85 solo), four tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, a sack, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and five pass deflections in his career.
Neal is looking to make an impact with the Dolphins, even though he’s made just one start in 97 career games.
“I’m very excited,” Neal told reporters Thursday after formally signing his one-year contract with Miami. “Definitely been on the other side for the past six years, you know, winning that title up there. On the other side now. It’s time to work to get that division down in South Florida.”
