The Miami Dolphins will once again be headed overseas to play a designated home game in 2025, the team confirmed on Friday. Season ticket holders were informed via email that one of the Dolphins’ home games would be an international game, with the location, date, time, and opponent confirmed to be named at a later date.
It will be Miami’s second international game in three seasons. The Dolphins lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 21-14 in Germany during the 2023 season and seventh overall, as the Dolphins have played in London five previous times.
So, who and where will the Dolphins play outside the United States? We rank the top possible locations and opponents for the NFL International Series game in 2025.

Where Might the Dolphins’ International Game Be in 2025?
1. Spain
In February, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that Madrid, Spain, will host a game in 2025 at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home to Real Madrid C.F.
“Playing a game in Madrid in 2025 highlights the continued expansion of the league’s global footprint and the accelerated ambitions to take our game to more fans around the world,” Roger Goodell said in February.
As part of the NFL’s Global Markets Program, Miami and the Chicago Bears have international marketing rights in Spain, which makes Madrid a very real possibility for the Dolphins. It would be the first NFL game held in Spain.
2. Brazil
The Dolphins also hold international marking rights in Brazil, which led to speculation last year that the Dolphins would be one of the two teams selected for the São Paulo game.
Instead, the game featured the Eagles and Packers, which was won by the Eagles during a Friday game in Week 1 of this season.
3. London
It is no surprise that London is on the list as the Dolphins have played there five previous times, most recently in 2021, when they lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Of note, Miami played the first-ever International game in 2007, losing 13-10 to the New York Giants, and the first International division game in 2015, losing to the Jets.
Miami has a 1-4 record in games played in London. The NFL will likely play at least five games there in 2025.
4. Germany
The Dolphins and Chiefs played a postseason preview in 2023 in Frankfurt. The NFL is in its third consecutive year of playing games in Germany, but would the Dolphins go back so soon?
5. Mexico City
The Dolphins also have marking rights in Mexico but have not been chosen for the four previous games. So far, the New England Patriots are the only team east of the Mississippi River to play in Mexico.
Other possible locations for International games include Dublin, Ireland, and Sydney, Australia.
Who Might the Dolphins Play in Their International Game in 2025?

Division Games
New York Jets, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills
Intra-Conference Games
Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals
NFC Opponents
New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Undetermined
Home game vs. a team from the AFC West (Chiefs, Broncos, Raiders, or Chargers) and home game vs. a team from NFC East (Cowboys, Giants, Commanders, or Eagles)
