Miami Dolphins Betting Lines: Preview, Odds, Spreads, Win Total, and More

    Published on

As you prepare to make your bets for the 2023 NFL season, here is a Miami Dolphins betting preview with their futures odds, best bets, and more!

The Miami Dolphins have the 10th-shortest Super Bowl odds entering this season after losing in the Wild Card round a year ago. The AFC is very crowded at the top, but don’t count out the Dolphins just yet.

With one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses and a defense that should be much improved, is this the year that Miami snaps their 20-year drought of not winning a playoff game?

    Miami Dolphins Offense

The Dolphins return almost all players from one of the more dynamic offenses of 2022. Miami ranked sixth overall and second in passing yards per game. In fact, in games that Tua Tagovailoa started and finished, the Dolphins averaged 6.5 yards per play, tops in the league.

They lose TE Mike Gesicki but add Robbie Chosen to a WR corps that includes Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and bring back all RBs from last year.

    Miami Dolphins Defense

To quote one media member: there may be no offseason move bigger than the Miami Dolphins hiring Vic Fangio to be the defensive coordinator.

Fangio, the former Denver Broncos head coach, was the AP NFL Assistant Coach of the Year in 2018 as the Chicago Bears defensive coordinator. He takes over a Dolphins defense that ranked 24th in points allowed per game and 27th in passing yards allowed. And whenever he’s ready to return from injury, Jalen Ramsey should be a valuable addition to this Dolphins secondary.

    One Betting Trend To Know

Using Inside Edge‘s research, PFN Fantasy & Betting Analyst Kyle Soppe notes that the under hit in seven of the Dolphins’ eight home games last season, tied with the Baltimore Ravens for the highest hit rate.

Best Bet for the Dolphins in 2023

Bearman: In parts of 13 games last year, Tagovailoa threw for 3,548 yards, which is 273 yards per game in his first year in Mike McDaniel’s offense. Add in one more game — just one — and you’re already over the 3,800-yard mark needed for this prop.

Can Tua stay healthy for 14 games? The Dolphins’ season is counting on it, so if he does, he should have no problem hitting this mark. And I used the word “parts” in italics because he was knocked out of three contests and still hit 3,548 yards. It’s a risk with his past health history, but so is betting in general.
