Miami Dolphins 2024 Mock Draft: Cooper Beebe, Sedrick Van Pran Reinvigorate Dolphins’ Offensive Line

The Miami Dolphins revamp their offensive line with Cooper Beebe and Sedrick Van Pran in this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.

What started as a promising 2023 campaign ended in bitter disappointment for the Miami Dolphins. Miami endured some brutal injury luck and will look to build better depth after its playoff run.

Can the Dolphins reload in the 2024 NFL Draft?

Miami Dolphins 2024 NFL Draft Picks

The Dolphins own just six draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Dolphins dealt a 2024 fourth-round pick to the Denver Broncos as part of the Bradley Chubb deal and forfeited a third-round pick in the fallout of suspected tampering with Sean Payton and Tom Brady. Miami also owns a second sixth-round pick from the Dan Feeney trade with Chicago.

    • Round 1, Pick 24: Cooper Beebe, G, Kansas State
    • Round 2, Pick 56: Sedrick Van Pran, C, Georgia
    • Round 5, Pick 152: Tykee Smith, S, Georgia
    • Round 6, Pick 168: Justin Eboigbe, DT, Alabama
    • Round 6, Pick 184: Tahj Washington, WR, USC
    • Round 7, Pick 216: Kendall Bohler, CB, Florida A&M

Dolphins 7-Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft

Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa stayed healthy this year, but injuries to star rookie running back De’Von Achane and receivers Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill hampered the offense at various points in the season.

The real issue was in the front seven, where the Dolphins lost Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips, Andrew Van Ginkle, Jerome Baker, and Cameron Goode for the season. The injuries were so bad that even Miami’s superb depth wasn’t enough. However, the depth there is excellent in a normal year, and the Dolphins may put their focus elsewhere in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Round 1, Pick 24: Cooper Beebe, G, Kansas State

Cooper Beebe is my top-ranked interior lineman in the draft. He’s a mauler inside, a powerful run blocker who can move people off the spot in the running game. In nearly 2,000 snaps as a guard in college, the Kansas State standout allowed one sack and is one of the more technically sound pass blockers you’ll find.

The interior of the Dolphins’ line struggled at times, masked by the excellent individual efforts of Achane and Raheem Mostert.

Round 2, Pick 56: Sedrick Van Pran, C, Georgia

To be honest, I didn’t go into this mock draft expecting to take back-to-back interior linemen in the first two rounds, but if Sedrick Van Pran is available in the second round, the Dolphins would do well to take him.

He would allow Liam Eichenberg to move to his more natural position at guard. Miami only has two interior linemen signed through next season, so doubling up makes sense.

Round 5, Pick 152: Tykee Smith, S, Georgia

A fifth-year senior, Tykee Smith declared for the draft at the beginning of January and should have plenty of suitors in the middle rounds. He falls into the fifth in this mock draft, and the Dolphins snap up a bargain for their defense.

Smith is undersized but flashes decent physicality and the ability to make big plays. Ideally, he’d provide back-end depth and special-teams ability early on in his NFL career.

Round 6, Pick 168: Justin Eboigbe, DT, Alabama

Eboigbe played mostly as an edge rusher for the Crimson Tide, but in Miami, he’d play as a 3-tech alongside Christian Wilkins. He has the size to slide inside and holds up well against larger blockers.

Always a plus run defender, Eboigbe flashed pass-rushing potential as a senior and could step immediately into the defensive line rotation.

Round 6, Pick 184: Tahj Washington, WR, USC

I think Tahj Washington is too talented to fall this far, but based on recent mocks and the consensus, this is near where he’s slotted. Washington operated primarily out of the slot and has a skill set that complements Waddle and Hill and fits well in Mike McDaniel’s offense.

Washington had over 500 yards after the catch last year and picked up a first down on half of his targets as a senior.

Round 7, Pick 216: Kendall Bohler, CB, Florida A&M

Bohler is a corner that people will get to know during the lead-up to the draft. If he gets an invite to the combine, he may blow every other corner out of the water with his combination of speed and strength. A member of Bruce Feldman’s “Freaks List,” Bohler has ridiculous athletic ability.

As the season progressed, he showed tremendous technique in coverage and physicality as a tackler. A draft gem, he’d be an instant upgrade for the Miami secondary.
