Melvin Gordon has bounced around the league during his NFL career, playing for four teams. The veteran running back didn’t play in the first two games despite the Baltimore Ravens losing J.K. Dobbins to a season-ending torn Achilles in Week 1.
However, Gordon saw the field in the Week 3 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Gordon had 10 rushing attempts for 32 yards and two receptions for 23 receiving yards in the game, scoring 6.5 half-point PPR fantasy points.
Following his solid performance on Sunday, should fantasy football managers add the former Wisconsin star running back to their team?

Should Melvin Gordon Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 4?
The Ravens have gotten destroyed by injuries at the running back position this season. Dobbins is out for the year. Meanwhile, Justice Hill didn’t play in Week 3 because of a toe injury.
However, the former Oklahoma State running back could return this week for the matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Unfortunately, Gus Edwards left Sunday’s matchup against the Colts and was evaluated for a concussion. Hopefully, he is fine and can play on Sunday against the division rivals.
Gordon’s fantasy-relevant days are likely over. The veteran is part of the team’s practice squad and not the active 53-man roster. He is behind Hill and Edwards on the depth chart. However, there is a potential pathway to relevance for the former Wisconsin star.
If Hill and Edwards can’t play on Sunday, Gordon would be the favorite to start for Baltimore over Kenyan Drake. Gordon had more rushing attempts than Drake (10-1) and had the same number of receptions (two apiece) against the Colts.
More importantly, the former Wisconsin star spent training camp with the Ravens, while Drake signed with the practice squad a week ago.
However, fantasy players shouldn’t prioritize Gordon off the waiver wire this week. Both Hill and Edwards could play against the Cincinnati Bengals. The team hasn’t suggested that either is out or even unlikely to suit up.
Furthermore, Gordon didn’t see the field in Week 2 over either running back despite being elevated to the active roster for the game.

Instead, fantasy players should look for more upside running back options off the waiver wire this week. De’Von Achane had over 230 scrimmage yards, four touchdowns, and 49.3 half-point PPR fantasy points in Week 3.
He is available in over 80% of ESPN leagues. Fantasy players should aggressively try to acquire the former Texas A&M star this week.
