“On a personal level, I’ve known Deion, Coach Prime, for a long time. My brother was actually roommates with his son, Bucky, Deion Jr. So, our families go way back. I remember seeing Shedeur when he was a little kid. I was at their house in Texas, people don’t know that. I’ve known them forever. I’m really close with Shedeur, Deion Jr., his whole family.”
“So, if Deion Sanders was my coach, how could I be mad? You know what I mean? I’ve known him for a long time.”
Coach Primes has been the subject of many rumors lately. Most recently, there were rumors that he would not hesitate to take the Dallas Cowboys head coaching job if it were offered to him. However, the Cowboys were not the first team linked to Sanders. Coach Prime has been linked to several NFL teams in recent months, including Las Vegas.
Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on Jan. 11, that Deion Sanders is very interested in the Raiders coaching job. However, it is unclear whether the Raiders reciprocate that interest.
The factor that could lead Sanders to take the job in Las Vegas would be whether or not they could acquire his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Colorado QB is viewed as one of the top two quarterbacks in the draft class alongside the Miami Hurricanes’ Cam Ward. As a result, he is projected to be a top pick.
The Raiders need a young quarterback, and Sanders would make sense, especially if they want to lure Coach Prime away from the Colorado Buffaloes. However, they have the sixth pick according to the current NFL Draft order, so they would likely need to trade up to acquire him over other QB-needy teams.
