One good thing about being a rookie WR in this Denver Broncos offense is they were in no way associated with the terrible Broncos offense in 2022.
Marvin Mims Jr. steps into a WR room that just lost Tim Patrick for the season and waived KJ Hamler. Can the rookie carve out an immediate fantasy-relevant role in this offense?

Marvin Mims Jr.’s 2023 Fantasy Outlook
The Broncos traded up to select the talented wideout from Oklahoma in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, which makes him the first offensive player selected by new head coach Sean Payton.
The fact that Payton and the rest of the organization decided to trade up for Mims is noteworthy. If you recall, the Broncos don’t exactly have spare draft capital to throw around after the deal they made with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire QB Russell Wilson last offseason.
So, why exactly did they trade up for Mims?
What type of vision does Payton have for Mims in his offensive scheme?
Well, Mims has the skill set that could make him a nice vertical threat who is capable of operating out of the slot (a role the Broncos likely hoped Hamler would excel in) and has already made some plays down the field during training camp.

Mims’ 4.38 time in the 40-yard dash gives Payton a speedy vertical threat to move around the chess board, but his capability of winning underneath and quality contested-catch numbers at Oklahoma suggest Mims is far more than just a deep threat.
Before Patrick’s injury and Hamler’s departure, it was going to be difficult for Mims to see the field enough to be relevant in fantasy. But with the WR room thinning out, Mims could see plenty of work in 11 personnel and could see enough looks to produce some big plays to make him a sneaky Best Ball dart throw.
Should You Draft Marvin Mims Jr. at His Current ADP?
Mims is currently going undrafted in most leagues with an ADP of 253 overall as the WR81 off the board.
So, if you are a fan of Mims’ skill set in this offense, then, by all means, throw a dart in the final round of your redraft league. There is definitely some upside with his athletic profile, and the draft capital the Broncos invested in Mims means they have a vision/role in mind for him in this offense.
The tough part to overlook when it comes to projecting Mims into a fantasy-relevant role is his target share.
There is definitely a possibility that Mims finishes with fewer targets than Jerry Jeudy, Greg Dulcich, and Courtland Sutton, which is going to make it very tough for Mims to become a reliable fantasy option in 2023.
