Marshawn Lynch Makes Stunning Contact Revelation Involving Ex-Seahawks Teammate Russell Wilson

Were Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson always on the same page? Lynch indicated the former Seattle Seahawks teammates had a different relationship.

Turns out Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson weren’t always in communication with one another during their run with the Seattle Seahawks when it came to phone numbers.

“Money Lynch” and “Beast Mode” made that revelation with NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe on the latter’s Club Shay Shay Podcast released Wednesday.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

Marshawn Lynch Claims He Never Had Russell Wilson’s Number; Was There a Reason?

Sharpe went the journalistic route and tried to figure out what went wrong in the relationship between the quarterback and his head coach Pete Carroll. It became a partnership that eventually led to the Seahawks trading away the QB who led the team to their only Super Bowl win.

Sharpe believed their union was “a match made in heaven,” to which Lynch nodded yes. Lynch, however, laughed and then gave the ESPN personality an honest answer.

“Look, man, I’m going to tell you straight up … I wouldn’t be the right person to speak on that relationship,” Lynch began.

    The reason why, per Lynch?

“Because I didn’t f*** with him [Carroll]. And Russ was just a quarterback for me.”

Lynch then revealed he never kicked it with Wilson, the QB with whom he won Super Bowl 48.

“I respect Russell as a player and as a teammate,” Lynch said, even bringing up the not-so-great moment of Wilson throwing the infamous interception in Super Bowl 49 that prevented back-to-back titles for the Seahawks.

“Anything that I say is gonna come off as malice or as if I’m a hater … I’ll take Russell, and I’ll put him right there at quarterback, and I’ll rock with him because I have done that. But as far as anything else … No, there’s no, you can’t pick up the phone and call ol’ boy or nothing.”

But away from the Seahawks’ facility, Lynch shared he and Wilson never had a phone conversation for this reason.

“I don’t got his number,” Lynch said.

Lynch shared that, after the game, he reached out to a player personnel executive and wanted Wilson’s number. Turns out it was a blocked number.

“I don’t know if he blocked it,” Lynch said.

After that, he tried to iron out the situation between the two, saying it was the first time he had a legitimate conversation with him.

“I’m here for you; you’re here for me,” Lynch said, indicating he was here for Wilson and they were “going to rock.”

But unfortunately, that conversation, per Lynch’s words, didn’t go well.

Overall, it adds to the fuel that Wilson’s relationship with the Seahawks soured, especially with stories that Seattle’s famed defenders were growing weary of Wilson.
