Many fantasy football managers had sky-high expectations for Arizona Cardinals WR Marquise Brown when he was traded from the Baltimore Ravens and reunited with his former college QB Kyler Murray.
Unfortunately, his two seasons as a member of the Cardinals saw him finish outside of the top 40 at the WR position in full-PPR formats. Since he is slated to become a free agent later this year, what is Brown’s current value in dynasty leagues heading into the 2024 NFL offseason?
Marquise Brown’s Dynasty Outlook
The dynamic speedster from Oklahoma managed to produce some big games and flashed some of his dynamic playmaking ability as a member of the Ravens when playing with QB Lamar Jackson.
His best season came in 2021 when he finished as the WR22 in PPR formats. That campaign saw him generate 91 receptions for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns. However, after his breakout year in Baltimore, he was abruptly traded to the Cardinals during the 2022 NFL Draft.
Brown got off to a great start in Arizona while receiver DeAndre Hopkins served a suspension to begin the 2022 campaign. In that six-game span, he produced 43 receptions for 654 yards and two scores. At that point of the season, Brown was the overall WR5 in full-PPR formats.
Unfortunately, that would be his best stretch of production during his Arizona tenure. He would miss eight of the next 23 games and seemingly fell out of favor as Murray’s top target in 2023 with the emergence of TE Trey McBride.
His meteoric fall from starter-type fantasy production over the last season and a half brings a ton of questions regarding his current dynasty value heading into the upcoming offseason.
Outside of one year, Brown has never managed to put it all together and live up to his perceived ceiling through the first five years of his career.
On the other hand, he is still just 26 years old and could certainly contribute in the right offense if he finds a favorable landing spot in 2024.
The next few months will be crucial for determining his future value for dynasty managers, but his current market doesn’t feel much higher than a second-round pick in upcoming rookie drafts.

Should You Trade Brown in Dynasty?

The uncertainty surrounding Brown’s immediate and long-term future makes him a difficult asset to sell at the moment. Are teams willing to pay him open market value to come in and be a high-end WR2 for their team? The answer is unclear at this time.
My strategy if you want to offload Brown at the nearest possible opportunity would be to wait until he gets signed in free agency and capitalize on any buzz he could see by getting a fresh start with a new team.
If I am a contending roster, I’m not going to aggressively pursue Brown because it is pretty hard to determine exactly what I’m buying at this time.
Sure, if someone is willing to send him your way for a third-round rookie pick, and you want to gamble on his upside, I wouldn’t be starkly against it.

However, an aging and smaller wide receiver who has trouble staying healthy — and who has just one true season of being an alpha target earner — makes it hard to believe his best days are ahead of him and not behind him.
