Marquise Brown Dynasty Profile: Fantasy Outlook, Value, Projections, and Rankings

After a breakout 2022 campaign, what does Marquise Brown's future look like, and what is his value in dynasty fantasy football leagues going forward?

As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of Marquise Brown.

Marquise Brown’s Dynasty Outlook and Value

At 5’9”, 166 pounds, there were legitimate concerns as to whether Marquise Brown could be an NFL receiver. Through four years, the answer is definitively “yes.”

Brown is still better utilized as a team’s WR2, but he’s more than proven that he can be the guy if needed. He served as the Baltimore Ravens’ WR1 for three years before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals. With DeAndre Hopkins suspended to start the season, Brown was absolutely dominating targets. Before he hurt his foot in Week 6, Brown averaged 10.6 targets per game and 18.3 ppg.

After Brown returned in Week 12, he was never startable in fantasy. He immediately returned to an every-down role, but the combination of Hopkins’ presence and Murray’s injury didn’t really give him a chance.

Brown will be 26 years old this season. Obviously, his value is going to take a hit for the current season, given that his quarterback won’t be Kyler Murray. However, Brown is still a very desirable long-term asset. It’s ironic, considering they’re currently on the same team, but Brown should be treated in an almost completely opposite manner as Hopkins.

Rebuilding teams want Brown. He should have anywhere from four to six high-quality years left beginning in 2024. We already know what he can do with Murray. If he stays in Arizona, that’s definitely not a bad thing. But that’s no guarantee.

The Cardinals exercised Brown’s fifth-year option immediately after trading for him. However, after this season, he’s going to hit free agency. The Cardinals will look to extend him, but it’s certainly possible they are unable to do so. That adds an air of uncertainty to Brown’s future.

Nevertheless, I’m down to bet on talent in this case. Brown wasn’t necessarily someone I was super high on as a prospect — I just wasn’t sure what to do with him. Now, I am. Brown is good at football and will be a productive wide receiver wherever he ends up.

    Marquise Brown’s Fantasy Ranking

I understand why Brown is largely ranked outside the top 24 of dynasty wide receivers. It’s more about the guys in front of him than Brown himself. If you look at our dynasty Superflex rankings, you can see how Brown ended up at WR25 (No. 67 overall).

With that said, Brown has the talent to be a WR1. He’s proven it. As a result, he’s someone you should be interested in acquiring regardless of your team’s situation. I would especially be keen on targeting Brown at his price in dynasty startup drafts.
