Marcus Mariota Net Worth: How Much Is the Philadelphia Eagles QB Worth in 2023?

What is the current net worth of the Philadelphia Eagles' backup quarterback Marcus Mariota entering the 2023 NFL season?

Fresh off an appearance on Netflix’s hit new documentary titled “Quarterback,” Marcus Mariota finds himself in the spotlight on the national stage. Mariota, at the time, was the starting quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons. Kanas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins were also the subjects of a year-long documentary that followed the three high-profile NFL quarterbacks around for the 2022 season.

The interest and intrigue in the NFL veteran quarterback from Hawaii have surely risen since the show’s launch. Mariota is now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles in a backup role looking to spell starting quarterback Jalen Hurts for the 2023 season.

    Marcus Mariota’s Net Worth

Mariota is entering his ninth NFL season after being drafted in the first round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Tennessee Titans. Throughout his extensive career in the NFL, Mariota has amassed a nice payday for himself, with career earnings totaling $64.5 million to date.

As of August 2023, Mariota’s reported net worth is $12 million dollars, with the majority of his fortune stemming from his on-field contracts through his time in the NFL.

Coming into the league as the second overall pick in the 2015 draft started Mariota off on the right foot professionally. By being selected where he was, Mariota signed a four-year contract worth $24.2 million, the standard contract at the time for his draft position.

With being a first-round pick, the NFL stipulates in the contract that a team has the right to exercise a fifth-year option to keep the player under the franchise’s control for at least one season. The Titans elected to do so in 2019 for Mariota, which then locked him in for an additional season with the team at $20.9 million for the year.

Come 2020, Mariota was in search of a fresh start, and he did so by taking his talents closer to home. He decided to go back to the west coast to join the Las Vegas Raiders, where he signed a two-year, $17.6 million deal with the team.

In 2021, Mariota was once again on the move. This time, he went back to the east coast and joined the Atlanta Falcons with a two-year deal totaling $18.75 million.

Now, Mariota is in Philadelphia after signing a one-year, $5 million deal to back up Hurts.

Off the field, Mariota has had business ties with the likes of global sports giant Nike, as well as teaming up with the Heisman team to be a part of the “Heisman House” campaign doing various commercials and appearances for the group.
