Having someone like Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave, who is 6’6″, 250 pounds, and boasts elite athleticism, is beautiful for any offense.
Musgrave has all the tools to become one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the NFL. This second-round pick didn’t light the league on fire last year, though, as he produced just 34 receptions for 352 yards. That can largely be attributed to his missed time — playing in only 11 games — but must be rectified ahead of his second season.
Let’s break down Musgrave’s fantasy football outlook in 2024.
Luke Musgrave’s Fantasy Profile for the 2024 Season
Musgrave resides in a stacked Green Bay offense, making it hard to shine through in 2024 for our fantasy teams. Still, he does bring a ton of talent to the field, and the Packers would be wise to utilize him frequently.
The second-year tight end brings elite speed to a position that gets its fair share of targets against linebackers. He also brings big, strong hands to the table that can win at the catch point. Musgrave runs through contact and can not be phased by anyone trying to throw him off his route.
Managers watched him shine in moments last season, however fleeting they may have been. He produced the eighth-best mark among tight ends in air yards per target at 7.48. He also generated the 10th-most yards after catch per reception at the position.
We aren’t done praising the athletic phenom. According to TruMedia, he recorded 10.4 receiving yards per reception (12th among TEs). It doesn’t take much more for him to be a dominant factor for Green Bay and our lineups.
He will have to take another step this year to optimize his explosiveness by refining his route-running abilities, which were raw coming out of Oregon State. If he’s going to see more playing time, improved run blocking is a must, too.
Is Luke Musgrave A Good Fantasy Pick?
Musgrave’s ADP sits at 149th overall, which makes him a late-round tight end that can be streamed to start the season.
If relying on late-round tight ends is your draft strategy, it is wise to lock in tight ends with an elite athletic upside. It also helps that the Packers do not see their bye week until Week 10, providing plenty of runway before acquiring a streamer off of waivers.

Green Bay’s offense is loaded with talented players, making it nearly impossible for him to be a top-three option consistently, but he does begin the 2024 season with favorable opponents.
The Packers start the season against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil, who allowed the 13th-most fantasy points to tight ends in 2023. They then face the Indianapolis Colts, who allowed the 11th-most points to the position. Ultimately, Musgrave has the opportunity to contribute to a high-scoring offense and help you properly navigate the tight end position in 2024.
