The 2022 LSU Pro Day will allow some of their most talented NFL Draft prospects to continue their ascension in this class. When is the LSU Pro Day, who should you be watching out for, and what can we expect?
When is the LSU Pro Day in 2022?
- Date: Wednesday, April 6
- Time: 9:45 AM ET
LSU‘s NFL Draft prospects will have the opportunity to display their potential for scouts at the Tigers Pro Day on Wednesday, April 6. One of the last workouts on the pro day schedule this year, the opportunity for LSU players starts at 9:45 AM ET. Last year, the LSU Pro Day was held at the program’s Football Operations Center.
Top NFL Draft prospects working out at LSU Pro Day
Last year, the LSU Pro Day proved a kingmaker for one of their prospects who’d been away from the football field for a significant amount of time. Ja’Marr Chase rocked up last year, hit a 4.38-second 40-yard dash time, was selected with the fifth overall selection of the Cincinnati Bengals, and went on to be named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Once again, the eyes of the football world are on Baton Rouge as another LSU prospect looks to prove their readiness for the NFL. There are a plethora of talented playmakers on both sides of the ball. However, there will undoubtedly be one main attraction at the LSU Pro Day.
Derek Stingley Jr., CB
That main attraction is cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. Following a sensational freshman season in 2019, the LSU star has been earmarked as a prodigious talent in this class. However, the past two seasons haven’t been overly kind to the talented cornerback. Following his season-ending surgery this last year, considerable questions need to be answered.
Having opted not to perform at the 2022 NFL Combine, the LSU Pro Day should give Stingley the opportunity to answer those questions. NFL teams will want to see that he’s recovered fully. At his best, there are few more athletically gifted prospects in the class. As such, we should expect to see some scorching testing times from the LSU cornerback.
Ed Ingram, G
LSU guard Ed Ingram displayed some impressive athletic tendencies at the NFL Combine. He was one of the faster interior offensive linemen in the 40-yard dash. However, he’ll want to show some improvement in typical explosion tests like the vertical and broad jumps.
Having missed the 2018 season due to a violation of team rules, any opportunity that Ingram has to prove his character to NFL teams will be important for his NFL Draft stock. The LSU Pro Day offers another chance to do that 1-on-1.
Damone Clark, LB
Unsurprisingly, LSU linebacker Damone Clark hovered around the top 10 linebackers in most drills he took part in at the NFL Combine. He’s a stellar athlete that showcases speed and lateral agility in his ability to patrol sideline to sideline.
Meanwhile, he has the explosion to be a dangerous downhill threat. As a result, expect him to test well once again at the LSU Pro Day. Clark should be a top-100 player in April if he continues to impress.
