Los Angeles Rams Opponents 2024: Jalen Ramsey Makes L.A. Return, and Jordan Love Comes to Town

    Published on

While the full 2024 NFL schedule hasn't been released, teams already know who they will face. Who are the Los Angeles Rams going to take on?

The Los Angeles Rams have to wait until after the 2024 NFL Draft to find out their complete schedule. However, like every other NFL team, the Rams already know who they’ll face ahead of next season.

Fresh off a return to the playoffs, the Rams’ future gauntlet is expected to be a tough one. L.A. currently has the league’s 12th-hardest schedule, and this one has a reunion with Jalen Ramsey lined up along with Jordan Love taking in his first SoFi Stadium starting experience.

Rams To Welcome Back Jalen Ramsey, Welcome in Jordan Love

One past beloved member of the Rams is heading back to Inglewood, Calif., this fall, Dolphins cornerback Ramsey.

The Super Bowl 56 winner was with the Rams from 2019 to 2022 — emerging as a captain and fan favorite. Ramsey, though, was part of the blockbuster March 2023 trade that sent him to Miami in exchange for a 2023 third-rounder and tight end Hunter Long. Now, he gets to face the Rams for the first time since that trade.

While Ramsey is already familiar with the glistening SoFi Stadium, Love and the Packers aren’t.

The Packers’ QB1, who guided his team to a run to the NFC Divisional Round, will get his chance to play inside the venue for the first time in his starting career. This will also serve as a southern California homecoming for Love, as he grew up in Bakersfield, Calif.

Meanwhile, for the rest of the home slate, the Rams get a SoFi rematch with a Bills team that walloped them 31-10 to start the 2022 season. That also means the return of former Ram Von Miller.

Only this time, Miller may not have fellow past Rams teammates Leonard Floyd and Taylor Rapp on his side — as both are unrestricted free agents for the upcoming March cycle.

Also, the Raiders are expected to draw a high number of fans inside the “Rams House” in this battle of former L.A. neighbors. And for head coach and Compton, Calif., native Antonio Pierce, it’ll represent his own California homecoming.

As for the road slate, the Rams will aim to exact revenge on a Lions team that ended their season in the playoffs by returning to Ford Field. Meanwhile, out of all the road teams on deck, Jerod Mayo represents the lone rookie head coach who’ll face the Rams — as L.A. will head to Foxborough, Mass., to take on his Patriots.

Is This a Tougher Schedule Compared to 2023 for the Rams?

Last year, the Rams were set up with a fierce gauntlet from the jump — as the first three games included matchups with 2022 playoff representatives. They faced the Seahawks and 49ers and then made a road trip to the AFC runner-up Cincinnati Bengals.

L.A. trounced the Seahawks to start the year before losing by seven points or less versus the Niners and Bengals.

The Rams then had to climb out of the 3-6 hole they were in, knocking off seven of their last eight opponents. Among their wins were the defeat of the AFC playoff-qualifier Cleveland Browns and the Week 18 road win of the eventual NFC-champion 49ers.

But did the schedule get easier for the Rams as 2023 rolled along? In the end, L.A. ended up facing seven different playoff teams from this past season. The only playoff teams they beat were the Browns and a Niners team that rested most of its starters.

Now, before the complete schedule gets finalized, the Rams will have six 2023 playoff representatives on deck. And outside of the 49ers, all but the Lions will head to the “Rams House.”
