The Los Angeles Rams gave away their 2025 second-round pick in a trade with the Carolina Panthers, but in this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, they’re still able to add an abundance of defensive talent with the capital that remains.
Ahead of the 2023 season, there was talk that perhaps the Rams would be due for a downward spiral. The Super Bowl hangover hit them hard, and Matthew Stafford’s health was an ongoing concern. But with help from emergent star Puka Nacua, Sean McVay’s Rams went 10-7, and made the playoffs.
The Rams’ strong drafting on Days 2 and 3 — an advance led by general manager Les Snead — has accelerated their new competition timeline. Aaron Donald’s retirement will hurt, but with another productive draft or two, the Rams could re-enter the Super Bowl conversation.
On the tail end of Stafford’s prime, this 2025 NFL Mock Draft gives Los Angeles enough defensive talent to step back into the driver’s seat.
Who Could the Los Angeles Rams Draft in 2025?
1.19) Los Angeles Rams: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
The Rams were proactive in trading up for Braden Fiske in the 2024 NFL Draft. Though no one can replace Aaron Donald, Fiske is the presumptive successor alongside Kobie Turner. The one thing Los Angeles still needs is a nose tackle. Kenneth Grant can be that player.
At 6’3″, 339 pounds, Grant at times embodies a freak of nature with his eye-catching burst and pursuit speed, and he has enough bend to be utilized on stunts. And ultimately, his prime utility — his ability to take on blocks and double-teams — will free up Fiske and Turner to feast.

An odd-front interior trio of Grant, Fiske, and Turner could grow to become one of the better outfits in the league. And with Jared Verse providing an elite speed-to-power element off the edge, the Rams’ defensive front could soon return to the highest ranks.
3.83) Los Angeles Rams: Danny Stutsman, LB, Oklahoma
With room to shore up the second level of their defense, the Rams add Danny Stutsman: An explosive, rangy presence at 6’4″, 241 pounds, who boasts 26.5 TFLs since 2022.
All of the Rams’ top four inside linebackers on the depth chart are set to be free agents after 2024. While it’s true that middle-field talent can be compensated for somewhat by strong trench play, the Rams could use a rangy second-level presence to tie the defense together.
Stutsman could have declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, and he could’ve been a middle-round pick with his tools. But returning to school in 2024, he has a chance to put up truly mind-boggling career numbers, and that production is rooted in his sharp instincts and motor.
