Los Angeles Rams Predicted To Add 6’2, 13-TD WR in 2025 NFL Draft

The Los Angeles Rams are projected to select a gritty, big-bodied wide receiver in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Los Angeles Rams are projected to select a tough, big-bodied wide receiver in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, according to a recent mock draft by Pro Football Sports Network. This selection is crucial for the Rams, as the team’s receiving corps is undergoing significant changes.

    Los Angeles Rams’ Receiver Situation

PFSN’s Ben Rolfe has the Rams taking 6’2″, 215-pound TCU wide receiver Jack Bech with the No. 90 overall pick in the third round as part of his 7-round mock draft:

Cooper Kupp appears to be on the way out of Los Angeles and both Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell could be as well. Jack Bech has been in the headlines for several reasons in recent weeks, but his play at the Senior Bowl should be the focus going forward.

Bech runs fantastic routes and has excellent hands, which makes up for his lack of speed and separation. The Rams’ scheme could help solve some of those separation issues, and he is the kind of physical, gritty receiver that this coaching staff will love to mold. This is a perfect fit in many ways, but he would benefit from not having to be a Day 1 starter.”

Bech’s 2024 season stats at TCU highlight his nose for the end zone and big play capability. He had 62 receptions for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Rams are facing a potential exodus at the wide receiver position. Cooper Kupp is likely to be traded, with the most likely landing spots being the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, and Washington Commanders.

Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell are set to become free agents. Robinson started all 17 games and led them in receiving touchdowns. He stated he wanted to stay with the Rams. Atwell actually outperformed Robinson in receptions and receiving yards but failed to score and is unlikely to return.

Puka Nacua remains as the only sure thing for the Rams at wide receiver heading into the 2025 season. Despite missing six games, Nacua still tallied 990 receiving yards on 79 catches but only reached the end zone three times.

The Ram’s offense was 11th in PFSN’s 2024 Offense + Rankings, with author Sterling Xie noting:

“The passing game’s inconsistency led to a wide fluctuation in grades this year. The Rams had four top-five weekly finishes but also four weeks ranking 20th or worse in the regular season.”

    Jack Bech’s Scouting Profile

Bech demonstrated strong route-running skills and reliable hands throughout the week of practice leading up to the 2025 Senior Bowl.

Bach’s reputation for toughness and ability to make contested catches was on full display during the game. He consistently won 50/50 balls, held on to the ball after taking big hits, and scored the game-winning touchdown. There was no doubt he’d take home the MVP award just a month after his brother’s tragic death.

The primary knock on Bech has been his separation issues, but the Rams’ offensive scheme could help mitigate that perceived weakness.

Lombardi Ave compared Bech to San Francisco 49ers wideout Jauan Jennings:

“What turned Jennings into a high-end pro is his ability to become a threat after the catch and separate at the line of scrimmage. This gives Bech a perfect veteran to emulate.”

In what seems like fate, Bleacher Report believed possible future teammate Nacua was an accurate comp, grading Bech a 7.5 out of 10 and ranking him as the eighth-best wide receiver in the class.

NFLDraftBuzz.com’s player comparison tool had a high percentage match for Bech with Cleveland Browns wide receiver Cedric Tillman, and Houston Texans target Xavier Hutchinson.

The big question is: Will Bech be available in the third round? Bleacher Report issued an overall rank in the high-50s, placing him in Round 2, and Daniel Jeremiah also projects Bech to go in the second round.

    Rams’ 2025 NFL Draft Strategy

The Rams have seven picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, including two in the third round. The team earned a badge of honor for finding value in the later rounds, as evidenced by Puka Nacua (5th round) and Jordan Whittington (6th round).

While the Rams will most likely still explore other options via trades or free-agent signings, Jack Bech could fill the void left by Cooper Kupp and forge a dynamic duo with Nacua.
