‘It Is Your Fault Jerry Jones’ – Long Time Cowboys Fan Skip Bayless Shocks With New ‘Lucky’ Eagles Jersey Choice

Skip Bayless calls out the Dallas Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones as he ditches his favorite team to sport a Philadelphia Eagles' jersey.

The eternal rivalry of the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles has entered a new phase. Sports personality Skip Bayless is aware of this as well. The 73-year-old is a longtime supporter of the Cowboys and has done something to force Jerry Jones and Co. to take notice. He paraded himself in the Eagles jersey, an act even he couldn’t have thought about doing a year ago.

Skip Bayless Ditches the Cowboys Jersey and Rocks Jalen Hurts

The Cowboys last won the Super Bowl in 1995, since then they haven’t even played for the NFC Championship game. On the other hand, the Eagles have contested for the NFC Championship seven times in those 24 seasons, gone to the Super Bowl thrice, and won 2 of them.

Dallas’ continued failures led to Bayless throwing away all of his Cowboys gear in the trash the previous season. In a video he posted on X (formerly Twitter) he explained that for the 2024 season, he bought kicker Brandon Aubrey’s jersey.

However, a few weeks into the season, he stopped wearing that as well, despite labeling Aubrey as the “best kicker in the history of the NFL.”  In the video, he threw that jersey away and put on the Eagles’ jersey featuring Jalen Hurts’ name and number.

“IT HAS COME TO THIS, COWBOY FANS … MY NEW “LUCKY” JERSEY … IS GREEN,” he captioned his video post on X. During the video Bayless also touched upon Jones’ infamous “all in” comment in the offseason that led to nothing concrete.

“I have now purchased, with my own money, this jersey featuring a quarterback I have always loved, Jalen Hurts, and a team I have always hated, the freaking Philadelphia Eagles,” Bayless said.

“I hate this color. It makes me sick to my stomach, and it has come to this, ladies and gentlemen. What do you think? Fly Eagles fly. It’s your fault Jerry Jones; you made me do this.”

Cowboys fans are fed up with the increasingly ineffective moves in the market and draft picks. The players have started to question the intensity of the Cowboys fans as well. CeeDee Lamb recently went viral for his comments surrounding the Cowboys and Eagle fanbases.

“Eagles, they’re crazy! Our fans are deep but, I don’t wanna say nothing crazy, but the Eagles got it,” he said.

Dak Prescott Sings a Different Tune Than Lamb

After the Eagles won their second Super Bowl in this decade, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was like Lamb impressed but found motivation in it. In his interview with ESPN’s Todd Archer Prescott shared his mindset after the Super Bowl 59.

“I feel like we’ve competed with the Eagles and beat them for the most part when we’ve played them,” Prescott said. “I don’t want to say, ‘Check our record,’ when the other guy is holding the trophy, right. So, credit to them.”

“They’ve earned it, and they deserve it by all means, but yeah, very close. Especially even watching the NFC Championship and those two teams, teams that we battle against each and every year a couple of times.”

“As I said, I feel confident that we’ve gotten the better part each and every time. But just seeing such a dominating fashion [in the Super Bowl], credit to them. It’s our turn, and it’s on us.”
