What Did L’Jarius Sneed Have to Say About Tyreek Hill’s ‘Jammed My Ahh to Cancun’ Tweet?

If Kansas City Chiefs CB L'Jarius Sneed is as physical with Deebo Samuel as he was with Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill, Sunday could be the Chiefs' night.

LAKE LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Oh yes, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed saw Tyreek Hill’s tweet.

    Which tweet, you ask?

A tweet that features Sneed absolutely bodying Hill at the line of scrimmage during one failed Miami Dolphins offensive play in their Wild Card round loss to the Chiefs.

A Look at L’Jarius Sneed’s Friendly Rivalry With Tyreek Hill

In the 16-second clip, Sneed shoves Hill to the ground and then shoves him again to keep him there before the Cheetah could even think about starting his route.

    Hill’s self-deprecating caption?

“Jammed my ahh to Cancun 😂”

Translation: The Dolphins’ season ended in no small part because the Chiefs’ corners physically dominated Miami’s receivers.

“Yeah, I seen that,” Sneed said here Wednesday ahead of Super Bowl 58. “The ‘jam to Cancun?’ I seen it.”

The clip was a perfect distillation of Sneed’s game in particular, and the Chiefs’ defensive approach in general.

But don’t think about suggesting to Sneed that it was the best jam of his career.

“People don’t watch film,” Sneed said. “I’ve been doing it the whole entire year. It just so happened that it happened on Tyreek.”

Sneed said his ability to consistently put hands on Hill “was big. You know, I was being physical. I knew it was going to throw the timing off between Tua [Tagovailoa] and him.”

Sneed said there was “a lot of trash” talk between him and his former teammate. But it’s clear that it comes from a place of mutual respect and fondness.

“He’s going crazy [in Miami],” Sneed said of Hill. “Putting numbers up. I’m proud of him.”

Sneed’s biggest physical challenge yet looms this weekend. Deebo Samuel, in the words of Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, “is like a running back playing wide receiver.”

Samuel was first among all NFL wide receivers in yards after catch per reception (8.8) and second in broken tackles (12).

“You have to pick your timing when to do it,” Sneed said, when asked about the art of jamming receivers. “You can’t just lunge at guys, you know. You gotta catch them at the right time.”
