‘Let’s Unretire’ – Dan Marino, Randy Moss, Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith Star in Hilarious New Commercial

Could NFL legends Dan Marino, Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, and Emmitt Smith unretire? This hilarious new commercial suggests so.

Over the years, we have seen legends of the game struggle with the idea of retiring. Guys like Tom Brady and Brett Favre are some of the most famous examples, but could this hilarious new ad signal the return of NFL greats Dan Marino, Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, and Emmitt Smith for the 2023 season? Certainly not, but it was funny to watch anyway.

In the latest Frito Lay and Pepsi commercial, you hear former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith tell the guys, “Man, I wish I was out there.” with Miami Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino replying, “Let’s unretire” before we see the guys get suited up in their team uniforms they use to break records in during their career for a possible “return.”

Former star wide receivers Jerry Rice and Randy Moss do not have a verbal role in the commercial, but they do pan to the Hall of Famers for their puzzled faces before all four men get suited up and run out of the tunnel for their discussed return.

When Did These Hall of Famers Last Suit Up?

Marino entered the league in 1983 and spent all 17 of his NFL seasons as a member of the Dolphins before retiring in 2000. Marino is widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game of football, with the only blemish on his record being the fact he was never able to secure a Super Bowl victory during his time.

Smith is the NFL’s all-time leading rusher, with 18,355 total rushing yards in his career. Smith was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1990, where he spent 13 of his 15 NFL seasons before ending his career with the Arizona Cardinals for the final two, retiring in 2003.

Smith won three Lombardi Trophies and was a crucial factor in the Cowboys dynasty of the 90s.

Rice is widely regarded as the best wide receiver of all time. The 13-time pro bowler and three-time Super Bowl champion spent 20 years in the NFL, with the majority of those seasons as a member of the San Francisco 49ers before retiring in 2004.

Last but certainly not least, is one of the most freakish athletes to ever play in the NFL. Randy Moss routinely gets mentioned with Rice, and for those who don’t think Rice is the greatest of all time, it is usually due to them believing the title belongs to Moss.

Moss came into the league in 1998 as a Minnesota Viking and spent 13 seasons in the NFL before retiring in 2010. Moss is a six-time Pro Bowler and a four-time All-Pro who was absolutely dominant in his prime.
