‘You Would Rather Pay Dak Than Micah?’ — Ex-Super Bowl Winner Rips Cowboys’ Shocking Plan To Potentially Trade Defensive Star

    Published on

Two-time Super Bowl winner LeSean McCoy slams the Dallas Cowboys for the trade rumors surrounding star LB Micah Parsons.

The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the biggest letdowns of the 2024 NFL season and are on the verge of missing out on the playoffs. Even with their Week 15 win over the Carolina Panthers, they’re still a long shot to make the postseason.

There are rumblings that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones might try to revamp the team with multiple changes to management and the roster before the next season. Micah Parsons is rumored to be one of the stars who could be offloaded in a possible trade. Two-time Super Bowl winner LeSean McCoy doesn’t agree with Dallas potentially trading Parsons.

LeSean McCoy Slams Cowboys’ Outrageous Plan To Potentially Trade Micah Parsons

In a recent episode of “The Facility,” former Philadelphia Eagles running back and six-time Pro Bowler ranted about the Cowboys potentially trading Parsons away.

The former Super Bowl champion mentioned that the 25-year-old defensive star is a generational talent and urged the Cowboys not to let him go.

“He’s the best player on the team,” McCoy stated. “You would rather pay Dak [Prescott] than Micah?”

The ex-NFL player went on to say that the Cowboys should choose to move any of their other stars over Parsons since putting their star LB up for grabs is a bad idea.

Parsons signed a four-year, $17 million rookie contract with Dallas in 2019, and the team decided to pick up his fifth-year option this year. Following Prescott’s $240 million extension, Parsons is hoping for a lucrative payday of his own.

However, with his contract coming to an end, there haven’t been any concrete talks. Instead, the two sides are expected to negotiate the extension this offseason.

Contradicting the recent rumors, the team does seem to have the linebacker in their long-term plans and plans to offer him an extension.

“We see Micah as a Cowboy for the long term,” Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. “We’ve said all along our goal was to sign Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Parsons, and that’s still our goal.”

With just three weeks left before the end of the 2024 NFL regular season, the Cowboys will try to finish this rough year on a positive note. As they prepare for a possible bounce-back in 2025, we’ll see if Parsons truly is in the team’s long-term plan or if he will find a new home elsewhere.
