Lamar Jackson Injury Update: Latest News on Baltimore Ravens QB

Lamar Jackson appeared to get banged up in Week 9. What's the latest on the Ravens QB as Baltimore takes on the Seattle Seahawks?

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson appeared to get banged up against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. What happened to Jackson, and what’s the latest update on his injury status?

    Lamar Jackson Injury Update

Jackson was limping after running to convert a fourth down late in the third quarter of Sunday’s game. While he never left the field, Lamar was clearly hobbling, so his health will be worth monitoring, both for the rest of today’s action and over the next week.

Four plays later, Jackson took another hard hit after recovering a fumble. He remained in the game after taking that shot, as well, so Lamar doesn’t appear to be dealing with a severe injury.

Tyler Huntley is Baltimore’s backup QB. He made four regular-season starts in both 2021 and 2022 while Jackson was sidelined with injuries and started the Ravens’ Wild Card Round game against the Cincinnati Bengals last year.

Huntley eventually entered the game and even threw a touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr. But the Ravens were leading in a blowout, so it doesn’t appear Huntley’s emergence was related to a Lamar injury.

After Baltimore’s win, head coach John Harbaugh said that Jackson should be fine despite “tweaking his knee on Sunday. For his part, Lamar also indicated he feels “great,” per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

What Would the Ravens’ Offense Look Like Without Lamar?

Jackson, the engine for the Ravens’ offense, got dinged up in the third quarter of their matchup against the Seahawks. He generated 17 points in the first half and produced 237 total yards before he started limping.

If Jackson should miss any time in the near future, Huntley would be the next man up under center for the Ravens. If Jackson is out of the lineup for an extended period, all Ravens’ skill-position players — namely Mark Andrews and Zay Flowers — will drop significantly in the weekly fantasy rankings.
