Lamar Jackson has become relentless on social media during the NFL‘s free agency week.
While his Baltimore Ravens are soon adding prized free agent running back Derrick Henry, Jackson is losing teammates to division rivals. They became his targets on X (formerly known as Twitter), but he did so using words made popular by a former NFL running back, Tiki Barber.
Why Lamar Jackson Trolled Former Teammates
Jackson witnessed two key defensive pieces move on in the AFC North.
Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Queen agreed to terms on a three-year, $41 million deal with the rival Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday. Before Queen, safety Geno Stone accepted a two-year, $15 million contract with fellow AFC North representative the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jackson, however, sent out hilarious warnings that resembled what Barber used on former New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley.
“You’re Dead to us, Queen. Good luck, You’re Dead to me,” Jackson directed toward the future Steeler.

The 2023 Most Valuable Player used the same rhetoric on Stone when his contract for the Bengals went viral.
“You’re Dead to us, You’re Dead to me,” he directed at Stone.

Jackson will go from practicing against both defenders to seeing them twice a year in 2024. And for Jackson and the Ravens, they’re witnessing two starters join two teams Raven fans have come to loathe over the years.
Was Jackson Ridiculing Tiki Barber With His Words?
But while Jackson was trolling his new former teammates, many fans wondered if the two-time NFL MVP was secretly taking a dig at Barber.
The former Giants Pro Bowl running back and radio personality took shots at Barkley after he went from the Giants to the Philadelphia Eagles, using “You’re dead to me” in his remarks to the former New York Pro Bowl running back.
Fans took to social media, believing Jackson was trolling Barber by going after his former teammates.
“Lamar Jackson is having way too much fun at Tiki Barber’s expense,” one fan posted on X.
Another fan couldn’t help but be amused at Jackson’s humor.

“Lamar Jackson is one of the funniest athletes on this app, Tiki Barber is too damn old to be acting like some six-year-old whose favorite player left the team,” the fan posted.
Jackson’s verbiage in his posts sparked speculation he was mocking Barber. However, Jackson has yet to come out publicly and say he drew his inspiration from Barber’s verbal attack on Barkley.
