Every point matters in Week 14, which is the final regular season week for most fantasy leagues. With six teams on bye, managers who were depending on the likes of Ka’imi Fairbairn and Justin Tucker will need to find replacements.
Below we take a look at a trio of kickers who would be strong streaming options for needy fantasy football managers.
Chase McLaughlin
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. LV)
No team allows more fantasy points per game to kickers than the Las Vegas Raiders, making them a great opponent to stream against. Chase McLaughlin has seen a reduction in volume after a strong start to the season, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should score enough to give their kicker plenty of opportunities.
McLaughlin has been incredibly accurate this year, hitting 17/18 field-goal attempts. The issue is that he’s been limited to a single field-goal attempt in three of his past four games, and hasn’t made multiple field goals since Week 5.
That has left McLaughlin available in over 60% of Yahoo fantasy leagues, though he’s more heavily rostered in ESPN leagues. Given his accuracy and the likelihood of several scoring drives, McLaughlin is a good add for Week 14.
Will Reichard
Minnesota Vikings (vs. ATL)
Will Reichard was placed on injured reserve after missing a pair of field-goal attempts in the Minnesota Vikings’ Week 9 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Reichard is eligible to return from his quad injury now, and there have been no indications that he needs to miss further time.
Reichard was one of the best kickers in the league prior to his injury, going a perfect 14/14 on field goals and 20/20 on extra-point attempts from Weeks 1-8. If he’s back, he’ll see an Atlanta Falcons team allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to kickers.
Reichard is available in over 95% of ESPN and Yahoo leagues, so you should be able to add him for this matchup. His replacement, John Parker Romo, is also available in nearly 90% of those sites’ leagues and would be a solid add as well if Reichard needs more time. Romo is a perfect 8/8 on field goal attempts since joining Minnesota.
Matthew Wright
Kansas City Chiefs (vs. LAC)
The Kansas City Chiefs’ inconsistent offensive output continues to benefit their kickers. Matthew Wright took over for Spencer Shrader in Week 13 and went 4/5 on field-goal attempts while also making his only extra-point attempt.
Shrader hurt his hamstring in a private workout on Monday and did not practice at all leading up to the Chiefs’ Black Friday game. While it’s unclear if he can return, hamstrings are a tricky injury and would seem to bode poorly for his availability. Shrader would also be a risky pickup, as he’s unlikely to be 100% healthy.
Harrison Butker must miss at least one more game on injured reserve with his meniscus injury, so he won’t be back for this matchup. Keep an eye on the injury report and add Wright if Shrader continues to be unavailable.
