Kevin Durant Explains Why Shedeur Sanders Getting Drafted by Tom Brady’s Raiders Is a Real Possibility

    Published on

Kevin Durant talks about the possibility of Tom Brady drafting Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft as the owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Shedeur Sanders has had a great start to his season with Colorado and has emerged as a potential candidate to get drafted with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sanders shares a great relationship with Tom Brady, who recently officially became a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. The Colorado quarterback recently liked a post related to Brady’s becoming the Raiders owner, and people began to speculate whether he would get drafted by the AFC West franchise.

Kevin Durant on Tom Brady Drafting Shedeur Sanders

Kay Adams recently asked NBA superstar Kevin Durant about Sanders getting drafted by the Raiders, and he thinks that it is a real possibility.

“I can see that connection working. Tom and Shedeur, they’ve got a relationship. I did see Mark Davis saying a little something to Shedeur at the [Las Vegas] Aces game a couple of weeks ago. Vegas is not too far from Colorado, so, you know, the Raiders might get a high pick. It’s looking like it’s lining up,” Durant said on the “Up & Adams.”

Sanders learned a lot from Brady growing up, and it will be ideal for him to start his NFL career with the seven-time Super Bowl champion being close to him.

The Raiders are currently 2-4 on the season and have recently traded Davante Adams. They could finish with the worst record in the league and will have a shot at drafting Sanders. Whether or not they will do it remains to be seen, but as of now, it looks like the Raiders have their eyes set on Deion Sanders’ son to be their next quarterback.

Is Sanders the Best Quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft Class?

As of now, no quarterback in college has taken the big leap and emerged as the clear-cut best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class. Sanders will compete with Cam Ward, Quinn Ewers, Jalen Milroe, and Carson Beck to be the first quarterback off the board in next year’s draft.

In six games this year, Sanders has thrown for 2,018 yards, 17 touchdowns, and four interceptions, completing 72.6% of his throws. Brady will play a big role in deciding who the Raiders will draft next year, as the team is currently not in a position to contend. They might even trade Maxx Crosby, whose recent cryptic comments have generated a buzz around the league.

The Raiders will hope that the other quarterbacks in college also continue to play well so that Sanders does not become the consensus first-overall pick in the draft. It will help them to draft the Colorado star even if they don’t finish with the worst record in the league.

Teams like the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, and New York Giants could also be looking for a quarterback next year, and it will be interesting to see where Sanders will end up.
