Will Kenny Pickett Play in Third Preseason Game?

Much like the first two preseason games where Pickett got the start, all indications point towards him doing so again in the final preseason game. Who Else Will Play With Kenny Pickett?

The Steelers currently have four quarterbacks on the roster and will look to use this third and final preseason game as a chance to sort out any questions or roster decisions they may have left when it comes to the room.

The first QB presumed to get a look after Pickett’s departure from the game is former first-round pick and NFL veteran Mitch Trubisky. Trubisky is entering his sixth season in the NFL and his second with Pittsburgh. He’s one of the most tenured backups in the NFL that can help Pickett as he settles into his career. With this in mind, the Steelers look set at their top two spots in the quarterback room heading into 2023.

Pittsburgh’s third quarterback on the roster is a familiar face for Steelers fans. The next man up on Thursday night will be Mason Rudolph.

Rudolph is entering his fourth year in the NFL — all with the Steelers — and while he’s QB3 at the moment, at one time, he was the starting QB of this franchise.

The fourth and final quarterback of the night, and one that may see the most extensive work in the final game, is Tanner Morgan. Morgan is a rookie looking to break his way into the NFL. As deep and experienced as this Steelers quarterback room is, he’s auditioning for 31 other teams as well and will look to leave the preseason with one final good impression.
