Kendall Fuller Free Agency Predictions: Potential Landing Spots Include Bengals, Texans, and Titans

    Published on

Veteran Kendall Fuller is coming off a stellar season in Washington, and his versatility makes him appealing to potential suitors in free agency.

Kendall Fuller has been a productive cornerback since he was selected with the 84th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by Washington.

Fuller played his first two years in the nation’s capital but was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018 as a part of the Alex Smith trade. During his time in Kansas City, he helped the team win Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers, clinching that game with a late interception.

Over the past two seasons, he has five interceptions, with two of them returned for touchdowns.

Here’s a look at which NFL teams could be fits for Fuller.

Kendall Fuller Free Agency Landing Spots

Fuller should have a robust market as free agency rolls on, and three teams in the AFC make plenty of sense as landing spots for the veteran CB.

Fuller Could Join Cincinnati Bengals in a Competitive AFC North

Heading into next season, there may not be a division that is more competitive than the AFC North. The Bengals figure to be right there in contention, but they are going to need some secondary help.

The team recently lost their best cornerback, Chidobe Awuzie, who signed with the Tennessee Titans. He was one of the best defensive backs on the market and leaves a big void in Cincinnati’s secondary.

Fuller is an extremely versatile player who is capable of moving all over the field. He’s able to play as a wide cornerback, but he also can be very good in the slot.

There aren’t very many cornerbacks on the market who are as versatile as Fuller, and the Bengals could use a player like that in their secondary.

Tennessee Titans Involved in the Cornerback Market in a Big Way

The Titans have been linked to many secondary players, and they have already gotten one very talented corner in Awuzie. They were able to sign him away from Cincinnati, but the team is still looking for even more help in the secondary.

With Awuzie on board, Fuller’s versatility could become even more valuable in Tennessee. He can be one of the very best slot corners in the league, and Tennessee can still absolutely use help in that area.

While Fuller’s talent is obviously enticing, he’ll provide the Titans with leadership the team is lacking. He’s a Super Bowl champion who has made plays on the biggest stage. As the Titans enter a new era in their franchise, the team will want locker room guys who are still capable of playing on their team.

Houston Texans Making Moves on Defense, and Fuller Could Be Next

The Texans made a monster move on Tuesday, as they signed Danielle Hunter to a massive two-year, $49 million contract. Last season, Hunter had 16.5 sacks and will now team up with Will Anderson Jr. to form arguably the best pass-rushing duo in the NFL.

After C.J. Stroud’s impressive rookie year, the Texans’ timeline toward being a true contender sped up — the time is now.

The secondary has talented young cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., who started to show his potential last season. Bringing in a veteran like Fuller to team up with Stingley would be immensely valuable. The time is now in Houston, and bringing in veterans is only going to make this team better.
