Former Georgia defensive back Kamari Lassiter is one of the best defensive back prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he has a chance to hear his name called in the second or third round.
When Lassiter is on the field, he is a tone-setter, as he played pretty much right when he got on campus at Georgia.
He’s a fiery competitor, and he got a lot of his competitive spirit from his parents.
A Look at Kamari Lassiter’s Parents
Lassiter was born to Kenneth Carter II and Kammie Carter in Savannah, Ga., on January 23, 2003.
Kamari’s parents have been a huge part of his life as he gets closer to fulfilling his dream go playing in the NFL.
They are both very active in showing their support for their son, and they post a lot of photos on social media at his football games.
Getting To Know Kenneth Carter II
Kenneth is from Tuscaloosa, Ala., so the fact that Lassiter even played his collegiate football in Georgia is quite a surprise. He had an offer from Alabama but decided to play at Georgia.
Kenneth is a community manager at the Scion Group. He attended Savannah University from 2005-10.
One area where his father has played a big role in Kamar’s life is instilling what it means to be a true student-athlete.
In high school, Lassiter had a 4.0 GPA and was an honor student. He wanted to pursue a biochemical engineering degree at Georgia, and his dad put a big emphasis on taking care of the classroom before the field.

Kammie has been Lassiter’s rock from Day 1, as she made many sacrifices to make sure her son had the best chance possible to achieve his dreams.
One thing Georgia often does with its players is learn the “why” of each player: Who are they playing for, and what motivates them to be great?
At last season’s SEC media days in the summer, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart told a story that showed how much Kammie meant to her son.
“He was talking about his why. It really kind of hit me in the heart, man,” Smart said. “It hit me right in the gut when he talked about his mom, Miss Kammie, and how much she sacrificed so he could go to the best high school, private school, and get the best education. How many jobs she worked, how she slept on the couch at his auntie’s house.”
There aren’t many players who are as close with their parents entering this draft as Lassiter is. His nickname, “K3,” represents his family: Kamari, his mom, and his dad.
Regardless of where he ends up, there is no doubt Lassiter’s parents are going to continue to be extremely supportive of their son.
