As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of Kadarius Toney.
Kadarius Toney’s Dynasty Outlook and Value
I understand the trepidation surrounding Toney. He was widely considered an overrated prospect and unworthy of his first-round draft capital.
Then, as a rookie, Toney flashed some serious upside but was unable to stay on the field. I don’t believe we can predict injury, but Toney missed time with five different ailments in his rookie season.
As a sophomore, it was more of the same. While with the New York Giants, Toney couldn’t get on the field due to various injuries. Ultimately, New York traded him to the Chiefs, where suddenly, he was healthy. Well, that didn’t last too long, as Toney dealt with a bevy of lower-body injuries once again.

It would be incredibly hypocritical of me to call Toney injury-prone, but the evidence is overwhelming. It’s difficult to envision Toney staying on the field for 14+ games in a season.
When on the field, I feel the perception of Toney is greater than reality. He had that one game with 10 catches for 189 yards with the Giants as a rookie, but other than that, Toney has just two other games with over 13 fantasy points.
With the Chiefs, Toney never saw higher than a 44% snap share and never more than five targets in a game. He had a 19-point fantasy effort in Week 10, but that was due entirely to a touchdown and two efficient carries for 33 yards.
Kadarius Toney’s Fantasy Ranking
Toney remains an enticing player, as he’s now entering his third NFL season at 24 years old and has two years left on his rookie deal. 2023 feels like a make-or-break year. If he can find a way to stay on the field and put it all together, he has the ability to at least be Mahomes’ WR2, especially with JuJu Smith-Schuster now out of the picture.
Toney is firmly a hold in dynasty. I wouldn’t go out of my way to trade for him, but if I already had him, I’m more interested in seeing if he pans out than trying to cash out for what is likely a return that doesn’t move the needle.
We currently have Toney at WR43 (No. 108 overall) in our dynasty Superflex ratings. He’s only a couple of spots ahead of teammate Skyy Moore, but I have far more hope for Toney breaking through than his sophomore counterpart. Given his upside, he’s a shot worth taking in dynasty startup drafts.
