With four solid teams on a buy this week, fantasy football managers will have an even tougher time setting their lineups. What is the latest on Justin Jefferson, K.J. Osborn, and Demario Douglas?
Latest News and Injury Updates Impacting Fantasy
Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Fantasy managers have been waiting with bated breath for Jefferson to get back on the field. Jefferson has been on the IR since Week 6. He left the Vikings’ Week 5 matchup against Kansas City with a hamstring injury. Before Week 5, Jefferson didn’t have a fantasy finish outside the top 12.
It has been difficult to postulate when Jefferson would return, especially after QB Kirk Cousins went down to a season-ending Achilles injury, but the Vikings are winning, and Josh Dobbs has injected the team with some pep that could expedite Jefferson’s return. Minnesota designated him to return from IR on Wednesday, which opens up his 21-day window.
The Vikings have listed Jefferson as questionable for their Week 10 game against New Orleans, and he is considered day-to-day. Head coach Kevin O’Connell told the press that it would be “a little aggressive” for Jefferson to play this week. If he remains on the sideline, expect Jordan Addison and TE T.J. Hockenson to have big days.
K.J. Osborn, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Not only are the Vikings dealing with the absence of Jefferson, they are now dealing with the potential absence of Osborn. Osborn was in the middle of a brutal hit in Week 9 that left him motionless for a few seconds on the turf. He finally got up and walked off, but it was a scary sight.
Osborn entered concussion protocol immediately after and has been moving through the protocol extremely fast. He was a limited participant at practice on Thursday and a full participant on Friday. To play this weekend, he needs the sign-off from the independent neurologist and the blessing from the team doctors.
He is listed as questionable for Sunday and comes in as WR30 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings for Week 10.
Demario Douglas, WR, New England Patriots
With Kendrick Bourne out for the season, Douglas has taken advantage. Over the last three weeks, he has been averaging almost seven targets a game. Douglas was a surprise addition to New England’s Wednesday practice report, with him listed as limited with an ankle injury.
Yesterday, he spoke to the press, and when asked how he was feeling, he said, “day by day, we’re gonna see.” Douglass is listed as questionable for the Patriots Week 10 game in Germany, so make sure to check the inactives before kickoff.
