During the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, running back Justice Hill took a shot that caused him to exit the game. Let’s examine what happened to Hill, his status going forward, and the fantasy football implications of this injury.
What Happened to Justice Hill?
After a long run early in the second quarter, Hill had his legs taken out, which caused him to slam his head on the ground pretty hard.
After staying down for a bit, he was eventually able to walk off the field and he was evaluated for a concussion by the medical staffers.

Just landed hard on his head and is down. Hoping that he will be okay. No doubt has to get checked for a concussion pic.twitter.com/y2DtsRGJ6v

Hill was ruled out with a concussion almost immediately, which isn’t a good sign in terms of the severity of the injury.
When Hill exited the game, he had two carries for 30 yards.
What Does Hill’s Injury Mean for the Ravens and Fantasy Managers?
With Hill out, the Ravens will lean on Derrick Henry and rookie Rasheen Ali to carry their rushing attack. Hill is Baltimore’s third-down back, so this is a significant loss.
Through 15 weeks, Hill ranked 12th in the NFL with 25 third-down touches.
His limited role behind Henry doesn’t allow for much in the way of fantasy value, but he’s a big piece of this team’s ability to stay on the field.
Zay Flowers and the Ravens’ tight ends could split some usage should Hill miss time, but it’ll be a committee approach when it comes to replacing this very specific role and not the type of situation that impacts fantasy stock in a meaningful way.
