The Detroit Lions offense kept humming against the Carolina Panthers, as they won the game 42-24. Jared Goff threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns, despite not having his best receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. St. Brown was out due to an injury, and it was the first game back for Jameson Williams. This opened up the opportunity for other receivers to stand up, and Goff found his long-time friend, Josh Reynolds.
Reynolds had four catches for 76 yards and one touchdown. Is that production something that fantasy football managers could expect to last?

Should Josh Reynolds Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 6?
The rapport that Reynolds has with Goff can’t be understated, as their time with the Los Angeles Rams played a huge role in their relationship. The former Rams teammates have great chemistry on the field, and Goff clearly trusts him.
In the four games that Reynolds has played this year, he has seen at least five targets in every single one of them.
One thing that has helped Reynolds’ productivity is the fact that the Lions haven’t had their top two receivers play a game together yet. St. Brown played in the first four games while Williams was suspended, then they switched spots last week with the abdomen injury.

In his first game of the season, Williams had only two catches for two yards. So with all of the question marks with injuries and guys just getting back, should fantasy football managers sign the reliable Reynolds?
No, not yet. With a healthy St. Brown, a more game-ready Williams, and rookie tight end Sam LaPorta, that is three guys who figure to receive more targets than Reynolds.
In the best-case scenario, Reynolds is currently the third option when everyone is healthy. This would mean that since Williams hasn’t played much, he is going to need time before seeing a bigger role.
If this offense is playing at its very best, though, Reynolds is the No. 4 option on the offense.
The running game has also been solid, as David Montgomery carried the ball 19 times for 109 yards and one touchdown in Week 5. This is one of the most complete offenses in the league and a big reason why Detroit is a team to pay attention to in the NFC.
Reynolds is going to be a guy who gives the Lions some nice catches throughout the year, but he just doesn’t put up enough numbers to warrant having on your team. There are other receivers who have higher ceilings in fantasy, and you should focus on similarly priced targets with more upside than Reynolds.
