Josh Jacobs Week 15 Start/Sit: Fantasy Outlook for Raiders RB vs. Chargers

    Published on

Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs has missed every practice this week with a knee injury. Can you trust him in your fantasy lineup on TNF in Week 15?

Fantasy football managers are in an impossible spot with Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs this week. He’s dealing with a knee injury heading into their matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football.

Can you trust Jacobs in your fantasy lineup heading into Week 15?

Should You Start Josh Jacobs in Week 15?

Editor’s Note: Jacobs has been ruled OUT for Week 15’s matchup against the Chargers.

When a player misses every single practice of the week leading up to a game, that’s normally not an encouraging sign of his potential availability for game day.

Jacobs suffered a knee injury in the team’s 3-0 shutout loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 15, which has cast a large cloud of doubt on his chances to take the field on a short week against the Chargers.

Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce did say that it would be “The Josh Jacobs Show” if he is active on Thursday, but that doesn’t necessarily guarantee he’ll be overly effective if on the field with an ailing knee injury.

Jacobs is already averaging a career-low 3.45 yards per carry this season, which would make him a risky high-end RB2 play at best if he takes the field this week.

Should You Start Jacobs or James Conner?

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner is coming off his best fantasy outing of the 2023 season with 105 rushing yards and two scores on 25 carries against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Despite serving up a bit of poetic justice to his former team last week, Conner still has a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers defense on Sunday. Still, I’m going to roll with Conner because I simply don’t trust Jacobs’ knee on a short week.

Should You Start Jacobs or Derrick Henry?

All hail the return of King Henry to fantasy stardom. The star Tennessee Titans RB is currently riding a three-game streak with two rushing touchdowns, which is fantasy gold.

Sure, his 34 yards on 17 carries last week against the Miami Dolphins shows all isn’t quite right in the Henry kingdom, but his recent jump in production makes him the better option of these two choices while Jacobs is a bit banged up.
