Josh Allen Snapped at Stefon Diggs After Week 1 Loss — ‘It’s One F—— Game’

Stefon Diggs was traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Houston Texans, leaving quarterback Josh Allen without a true No. 1 receiver for this upcoming season.

But now we are learning that Diggs and Allen’s relationship was not always sunshine and rainbows.

Josh Allen Had Strong Comment for Stefon Diggs After Week 1 Loss vs. New York Jets

According to The Athletic’s Tim Graham, Allen reportedly snapped at Diggs when the media gathered in the locker room after 2023’s Week 1 drop to the New York Jets.

Bills players such as Dion Dawkins and Kyle Allen were consoling their quarterback after a brutal loss. But Diggs approached Allen’s locker, and whatever he said to the quarterback, invoked an eruptive response.

“It’s one f—— game!” Allen told Diggs, shooing the receiver away.

Graham notes that he’s not sure what exactly Diggs said, but whatever it was, Allen was not having it.

“Diggs clearly in that moment, and it happened so quickly, would lead maybe one to believe on the regular was getting under Josh Allen’s skin,” Graham said on his podcast.

Graham continues to explain that Diggs’ production took an epic dip in the second half of the season and the playoffs. Perhaps the Bills were trying to prove to themselves that they no longer needed Diggs to win football games.

Buffalo Bills’ Depth Chart at Wide Receiver

While the separation might have been in the best interest of both Allen and Diggs, the trade does leave Buffalo with a massive hole at receiver.

Remember, Buffalo also lost Gabe Davis this offseason when he signed a three-year deal worth $39 million with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Buffalo’s current top wide receivers are Khalil Shakir, who the team drafted in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and Curtis Samuel, who signed a three-year deal worth $24 million with the Bills.

The Bills also have Mack Hollins, who has shown promise with the Las Vegas Raiders and Atlanta Falcons.

Obviously, none of these players are to the ilk of Diggs and Davis. However, the Bills own the No. 25 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and there are plenty of receivers expected to be available.

The Bills have reportedly met with 10 receivers ahead of the NFL Draft, including projected first-rounders Xavier Worthy, Brian Thomas Jr., and Adonai Mitchell. They’ve also met with the next tier of receivers, including Roman Wilson, Jalen McMillan, Xavier Legette, and Troy Franklin.

While Buffalo’s receiving room is thin right now, it appears that help will certainly be on the way at the end of the month.
