‘I Wouldn’t Get a Passing and Receiving TD’ — Josh Allen Had Wild Reaction to His Viral Touchdown After Bills Domination of 49ers

Josh Allen’s viral snow day touchdown and historic performance helped the Bills dominate the 49ers, clinching the AFC East with a 35-10 win.

When snow hits the field, you know it’s about to get crazy, and Sunday night’s prime-time clash between the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers was a full-on blizzard of chaos — the fun kind.

Josh Allen and the Bills unleashed something straight out of a highlight reel: a hook-and-ladder touchdown from inside the 10-yard line. It was one of those “Wait, what?” moments, and even Allen couldn’t believe it.

Josh Allen’s Viral Snow Day Touchdown Caps Bills’ Dominant Win

In a snow-filled showdown that turned into a viral sensation, Allen’s wild touchdown against the 49ers wasn’t your typical highlight reel moment.

With the Bills already dominating the game, Allen’s short pass to Amari Cooper seemed to be heading for a modest gain. But then, in a moment of pure improvisation, Allen called for a lateral, and Cooper was right there to flip it back.

The result was, by technicality, a Josh Allen touchdown pass to himself.

“Yeah absolutely, I wanted it. Come on! I was right there, I put my hands out and he did it,” Allen said post-game. “I wouldn’t get a passing and receiving [touchdown]. I assume it’s a pass ’cause you get a rushing.”

This play capped off a dominant 35-10 victory for the Bills, who clinched the AFC East crown with a commanding performance in Week 13. The snowstorm didn’t faze the Bills, as they took control early.

Ray Davis opened the scoring with a 5-yard run in the first quarter. James Cook exploded for a 65-yard TD to push the lead in the second. Then, just before halftime, Allen hit Mack Hollins for a 7-yard score, capping a 97-yard drive to make it 21-3.

The second half saw the Bills keep the pedal to the metal. After the lateral touchdown, Allen added an 8-yard scramble in the fourth quarter, putting the game out of reach.

With the Bills dominating on both sides of the ball and the energy from Highmark Stadium electric, it was a snowstorm-fueled win that left fans and teammates buzzing.

In the third quarter, with the Bills already owning the game, Allen pulled off a 7-yard TD pass to himself. He threw a pass, then called for a lateral, and then earned a touchdown reception, officially.

The move made him just the fourth player in NFL history to pull off that trick. Even Patrick Mahomes took notice: “That was lit!” he posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), showing some love for Allen’s skills.

Allen wasn’t done, though. He became the first QB ever to pass, rush, and catch a touchdown in the same game — a feat only three legends (LaDainian Tomlinson, Walter Payton, and David Patten) had pulled off before. It was a statement!
