Arizona’s Jordan Morgan is a towering presence at the tackle position and was a huge reason why the Wildcats’ offense was so prolific this past season.
Morgan stands at 6’5” and 325 pounds and is a terrific athlete for a player of that stature.
There are questions about which position the former Arizona standout will play in the NFL, but the fact Morgan has the versatility to play multiple positions will help him find a spot in the league.
Let’s dive into Morgan’s football journey.
Where Did Jordan Morgan’s Football Career Start?
Morgan played his high school football at Marana High School in Marana, Ariz.
He helped lead Marana to the state playoffs in three consecutive seasons as he played on both sides of the football.
Morgan was a three-star recruit out of high school but wasn’t sought out by teams outside of the West Coast.
He ultimately chose to go to Arizona over other schools such as Arizona State, Northern Arizona, and USC.
Revisiting Morgan’s College Career
Morgan didn’t come right in and play at Arizona, as he didn’t see a ton of playing time early in his career. During his freshman season, Morgan played in six games, with two starts at left tackle.
During the shortened 2020 season because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Morgan started Arizona’s first two games and missed the last three due to injury.

Over the next two seasons, Morgan started 21 games, and in 2021, he allowed only one sack on 670 snaps. Heading into 2023, the expectations were much higher for Morgan as he was put on the watchlists for the Outland Trophy and the Wuerffel Trophy.
The Wildcats had one of their best seasons in a long time, finishing 10-3 while tying a program record with seven consecutive in-season wins. Arizona’s offense was one of the most dynamic in the country.
Morgan’s Potential in the NFL
Versatility is never a bad thing when it comes to the NFL, and it is a big reason why Morgan’s potential is high.
Pro Football Network draft analyst Ian Cummings said Morgan may actually project better as a guard at the next level.
Morgan was coming off an ACL injury heading into the 2023 season, and that is the type of injury that can really hurt an offensive lineman’s athleticism and movement.

However, Cummings said Morgan still possesses that rare combination of size and athleticism that he had before the injury.
“At 6’5″ and a playing weight of around 320 pounds, Morgan has great size, power, and strength,” Cummings said. “But at the same time, he’s an elite athlete with impeccable leveraging skills, balance, and bend — and he didn’t lose any mobility in 2023 after returning from an ACL tear.
Showing he is still that athlete is huge in the eyes of the scouts and general managers who will be making draft decisions starting on Thursday.
Highlights, Records, and More
Morgan’s career got off to a slow start, but by the time he left Arizona, the accolades started to come in.
Morgan was honored by the AP on their All-Pac-12 First Team as well as the All-Pac-12 First Team by the coaches and media.
Morgan was also named to College Football Network’s All-Pac 12 First-Team and was a third-team All-American.
