What Is Jordan Love’s Ethnicity? Exploring Packers QB’s Background

Jordan Love is the new star quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. Let's take a closer look at his background and get to know him better.

When you are drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft like Jordan Love was, there is a lot of intrigue around you and who you are. When you become a starting quarterback for a historic franchise like the Green Bay Packers, a virtual spotlight gets put on your every move.

With the newfound interest, and with the Packers playing in prime time tonight against division-rival Detroit Lions, the questions about who Love is will intensify as fans across the league look to learn more about the young up-and-coming QB in the NFL. Let’s take a closer look at who Love is and start by exploring his background.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

    What Is Jordan Love’s Ethnicity?

Love is of mixed ethnicity. His father was African-American, while his mother is Caucasian.

Love is a huge family man and often talks about how he leans on his family for the support he needed growing up to continue to strive and reach the goal of being an NFL quarterback.

Trials and Tribulations for the Love Family

Growing up certainly was not easy for Jordan and the Love family. His father Orbin was a former quarterback himself that would play at the Junior College level before deciding to pursue a career in law enforcement. Orbin would grow to become a sergeant in the Bakersfield Police Department.

Sadly, Orbin would take his life when Jordan was just a teenager which left Jordan’s mother Anna to take care of him and his three sisters. The situation would be unsettling for any family, but Love rallied around his support system. Ultimately, he was still able to accomplish his lofty goals despite the adversity he faced.

2023 Is the Start of a New Era in Green Bay

With Aaron Rodgers gone and Love now the man under center going forward, it is a new day in Green Bay. The franchise hopes that the changing of the guard can produce similar results to what the last two passes of the batons looked like for the franchise.

Love has the Packers at 2-1 with a chance to beat a division rival in the Detroit Lions on Thursday night. A victory would further solidify that, despite the changing of quarterbacks, Green Bay is still the team to beat in the NFC North in 2023.

Regardless of what tonight or the rest of his career looks like, if you can tell anything from Love and his background, it’s that he’s resilient and able to overcome all obstacles so far.
