John Harbaugh Jokingly Encourages Travis Kelce To Retire, Settle Down With Taylor Swift: ‘I Hope They Get Married’

Travis Kelce's Romantic Relationship with Taylor Swift has one AFC rival hoping for his imminent retirement.

Playoff rivalries are always good for the sport of football. Whether it was Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady, the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Baltimore Ravens, or even the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Dallas Cowboys, rivalries are what make the game of football what it is.

There are some rivalries in the modern day that get people to laugh, though. The latest example of this can be seen between Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and All-Pro Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

John Harbaugh Playfully Tells Travis Kelce To Retire and Enjoy Life With Taylor Swift

The oldest Harbaugh brother has always been a Taylor Swift fan, thanks to his daughter, Alison.

Since the 34-year-old pop star singer began dating the youngest Kelce brother, the Ravens head coach has been extremely excited not just for Kelce, but the prospect of not having to face the All-Pro in the future.

“I hope they get married,” Harbaugh told US Weekly. “I hope they have a bunch of kids. Heck, maybe he’ll get ready to retire here pretty soon to pursue that family aspect of his life. I would encourage that.”

Kelce helped the Chiefs win their second straight Super Bowl and third in five years during last year’s run. On the way, they knocked off Harbaugh’s Ravens 17-10 in the AFC Championship Game.

During the conference title game, Kelce recorded 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. He passed Hall-of-Famer Jerry Rice for most playoff receptions in a career — a sign that he hasn’t quite slowed down yet, even though he’s now 34 years old.

It’s why an opposing coach like Harbaugh would be happy to see the Chiefs tight end call it a career in the near future.

With Kelce’s older brother, Jason, having already retired from the game this past offseason, the future of the NFL is coming fast for the Kelce family — with enshrinements in Canton, Ohio, certainly on the docket.

That being said, Kelce’s career isn’t done yet — despite what opposing coaches may want. His relationship with the world-famous pop star has continued, and the Chiefs appear poised to be the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three straight Super Bowl titles in 2024.
