Cleveland Browns veteran quarterback Joe Flacco is one of the more fun stories of the 2023 NFL season. Flacco was on the couch for more than half of the season, just waiting for his phone to ring with a chance to suit up and play on Sundays again.
That phone call eventually came with the Browns needing a veteran presence to come help them navigate their way to a playoff run. Flacco has done that and more for the team, as he and the rest of the offense have done more than their fair share to help this elite defense reach its goals.
With this late addition to the roster being an instant success for the Browns, let’s take a look at how much he is making in the NFL this year and what his contract projects to be going forward.
Joe Flacco’s Contract Details With Cleveland Browns
Flacco signed a one-year, $2,500,000 contract with the Browns with a base salary of $1,800,000 and a signing bonus of $400,000. Flacco carries a cap hit of $1,100,000 and a dead cap value of $400,000.
Built into his contract is an additional $75,000 for every regular-season win, as well as $250,000 for a Wild Card round win, $500,000 for a Divisional Round win, $1 million for an AFC Championship win, and finally an additional $2 million for a Super Bowl win.

Flacco has an incentive-laced contract that keeps him more than motivated to go out there and find a way to bring home a win for the Browns.
However, beyond this season, Flacco has no assurances and will become an unrestricted free agent following its completion.
Veteran Presence in Cleveland
Flacco has stepped in as the Browns’ starting quarterback and done everything they would have hoped and more. Flacco has started four games for the team since joining late in the season and has gone 3-1 in those games.
He has thrown for over 1,307 passing yards and 10 touchdowns during that time. He has also added seven interceptions as, but for the most part, his veteran presence has allowed them to be more efficient and smart on the offensive side of the football.
It hasn’t been perfect, but it has been enough, and as a result, the Browns have 10 wins with two games left in the season — a real chance to lock up a playoff birth in Week 17 and a possible 12-win campaign.
As he continues to knock the rust off and get more comfortable in their offense, it is entirely conceivable that Flacco and his play will continue to elevate as they navigate a tough AFC playoff bracket.
