‘Get Your F****** Bodies Right’ – Joe Burrow Sends Strong Message as Bengals Prep for Short Turnaround to Week 10 TNF

    Published on

Despite an electric win over the Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow sent his team a stern message ahead of Week 10 on Thursday Night Football.

After losing three consecutive games in the first few weeks of the 2024 NFL season, the Cincinnati Bengals have finally gotten a winning momentum.

Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow-led offense has secured four wins out of its last six games. However, even though the Bengals quarterback is well aware that the win against the Las Vegas Raiders was thrilling, Cincinnati has a longer road ahead.

Joe Burrow Reflects on Attitude During Raiders Game

Following their 41-24 win this past Sunday, both the Bengals QB and head coach Zac Taylor celebrated the team’s win but not without a stern reminder:

“Kind of a long week, Right? Coming off a loss like last week, you guys responded the right way. Okay, defense, after that first drive, you guys bunkered up, you guys bunkered up and shut them down for the rest of the game and allowed the offense to play aggressively and put points on the board, get a three-score lead, and then we found a way to close it out in the fourth quarter.

“Really proud of you guys. That’s how we should be playing from start to finish. There’s things we got to clean up. We all know that, you got to enjoy the wins in this league, because we found out how hard they are to come by. Okay, so I want to tell you we got a short week this week. We talked about what our season is right now, and this is the next step to setting the right tone.”

While the head coach’s speech was a tad bit more upbeat, Burrow kept it to the point:

“We’re traveling on Wednesday. Today’s Sunday. Get your f****** bodies right, get your minds right; it’s a big one on Thursday.”

Burrow completed the game with 27 of 39 passing for 251 yards and a 115.5 passer rating.

Reflecting on the game during the press conference after it, Burrow said:

“I’m not just going to ignore the bad and dwell on the great that we did today. I don’t think that’s a recipe for improvement. I don’t think that’s a recipe for getting better. I’m going to be hard on myself. I’m going to be hard on us to execute the way that I feel like we need to. And I feel like we didn’t put ourselves in great positions in times of that game to finish off the right way.

“We ended up doing it. The defense came up big, but I think we could have done better,” Burrow stated honestly.

The Bengals will aim to maintain their momentum during Thursday’s showdown against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10.
